Is there any limit to the number of keywords you can have in your meta keywords tags.

I have research my site and there is many keyword result (not repeat), so how many keywords to be considered to put in the meta keywords?

    Thank for the help.

There is no limit - you can put as many words on your page as you see fit. I think if you put too many it dilutes the impact, though.

really? so SearchEngines dont look at meta keywords?

Do Search Engines use only the first x number tho? or do they think you are trying to spam if you use too many that it lowers your chance?

    Not more than 200 characters,
still no any disadvantages of using more characters.

The keywords meta tag has so little value these days that it's not worth worrying about it too much.

Just choose your most important keywords/phrases and stick them in there

You can have as many as you want but meta keywords holds no weight in search engine rankings.

Title tag, followed by header tags, then maybe bold and the alt attribute of images. Of course the Anchor text of inbound links holds lots of weight.

for me just use 3 major keyword and 2 minor keyword for meta tag.......
although SEs no longer give too much importance to meta tags, they are still useful tags on
    your pages.

The truth is, nobody really knows 100% for sure which search engines use the tags for what. If it was that obvious, then it would quickly become devalued. Just put in common sense keywords for whatever your page is about, but not too many. Look at pages on highly-ranked websites and follow suit (at least, similar length and style) and you won't go too far wrong.
