I would not want microsoft to buy yahoo. They seem to ruin every thing they buy and that would leave google as the only real search engine

Microsoft wants to buy Yahoo because they want to be able to compete with Google. It's the only way for them to do that and they know it.

Ironically, MS doesn't have enough money - they are needing to take out a loan for the first time to finance the acquisition.

Microsoft would probably pay $100bn if they felt it would help defeat Google.

    Yahoo converts well.

Yahoo's trouble is its very badly run.

I shall not shed a tear when Microsoft buys Yahoo and cleans house.

Microsoft needs to spend its 40 billion on making a rocksolid OS, which is fully upgradeable, able to run other platforms, i.e. running unix applications and create great services that everyone can use / customise to their need.

sell the thing for like $40. and have a $20 a year subscription for all Live! services and window updates (this is for lifetime) so no need to spend $300 on a new OS every few years.

Microsoft would make millions, and all users would be happy, the computer universe would be great

    I wish...

    Microsoft already make millions.

Why would they reduce there prices when there are people out there willing to pay for it.

Vista may suck now, but i bet in 2 years from now everyone of you will be using it.

Microsoft should just poach the best employees of google and Yahoo and get them to fix live search up.

Microsoft wants to buy Yahoo to merge with MSN. They gonna Combine Yahoo and MSN to beat up Google. That might be good and bad news for that. Bad News: Google gonna have strong competition. Good News: Google's Publisher gonna experience higher cost per click for adsense.
