Change destination URL or make new campaign?

I am working on a new account that had very specific campaigns pointed to a home page. I am going to change the Adwords destination URL to a specific page which will have a better quality score. Should I change destination URL in an existing ad group or make new campaign and or ad group?

    Thanks.

    Look what happened to me.

First I had direct linking in my campaign, then when I changed my destination url to a landing page, while the campaign was active my quality score went up.
However, because my landing page wasn't doing well, I decided to change everything back. When I did it, my quality score just jumped down to "Poor" from "Great" and CPC went up as well.

I think you should pause your campaign before changing the destination url. You should be fine.

What would be a typical result? Is there normally a transition where results bounce around or does it reset immediately based on the new landing page?
