Do you still buy CD's??

I am very passionate about this.

I NEVER DOWNLOAD MUSIC! (UNLESS I PAY FOR IT.)

I do NOT steal it. Yes, I said "STEAL" it. Call me old fashioned, but I believe if you want music, you should buy it in some way. I still like getting he CD's to see stuff about the band, music, etc. Yes, there is STILL a thing called PAPER!

If I were in a band and people were stealing my music I would be angry. DOWNLOADING is why the music industry SUCKS so bad right now. Its KILLED a GREAT industry.

    Thoughts?

I think that those who are making music have enough money to live for 100 years and music should totally be free on the net! no I never buy cd's

Musicians are quite under paid unless there main stream pop or other shit like that. All the money is taken by the publishers.

I'm not so much into music and I don't really prefer one band or one singer to the other and in fact I don't have a favorite singer or band but I do like some songs from random singers or bands and I have a collection of them.

In my case, it would be not cost effective for me to actually buy the CD if I don't like the 14 other songs in it so what can I do except download it?

And downloading songs is not really stealing IMO cause once you write and you sang the song, even if you have all the copyrights and stuff, you already told us about the "info" you already shared it, therefore it cannot be just your own, why do you want to pay someone to listen to his/her song when you can hear it from the radio on a bus?

How's that? If you hear the song from a radio while riding a bus or taxi, does that mean you're stealing?

No, it was a long time ago since i bought a CD.

I got some music DVDs lately though.

And the reasong for not buying CD's is mostly because I mostly listens to small foreign bands that is pretty impossible to buy some stuff from.

Currently I use itunes and purchase all the music i listen to or listen to CD's that I've had for a while. Every once in a while i'll buy a CD. I think there is a misconception of where music stars and musicians obtain money. From what I have observed musicians make a majority of their money off their live performances as well as the select few who are paid to be in advertisments on the television or in a magazine. I would say musicians actually see less than 1% of record sale money.

They actually pay fees to be allowed to broadcast songs. Same for all those music tv channels.

It's adorable to buy cd's, but often the music i want isn't there at the shops.

Besides the money spent for music which is available out there and everybody and his half-crazed grandmother is downloading, could be better used for other things, especially if you are on a tight budget.
Besides music cd's take up physical space.

I have stopped actively listening to music since a year anyway.

    Greetings fellow rammstein fan.

Case in point, you won't find a single rammstein cd anywhere near my place. Only mainstream stuff like boy bands and rap and girl singers etc.
    I have tried.

lol i'm not asking the about the ones broadcasting it, i'm saying if you can listen to it without paying (which is the same as downloading and listening to it) does that mean you're stealing?

I only buy CDs I really like. (Taking that decision after downloading them).

It feels good to have an original CD in your hands, though.
