Essentially the same thing as article marketing based on my understanding. You simply write articles related to your website, submit them to popular article directories with a link to your site at the bottom, and hopefully those interested in your articles will also be interested in your website/services.

Essentially article marketing... It doesn't take that much time, in fact checkout the following link for a study that was done using only 10 articles:

OK, if you REALLY want to know what bum marketing is, you need to go to the source. Bum Marketing refers to any type of free marketing. The term was coined by Travis Sago. He has a whole website about it. You can find it at www.bummarketingmethod.com. It's a good source for free information.

The term, or what it actually does?

The term is from some guy by the name of Travis Sago who slapped the term, "Bum Marketing" on a very old method of article marketing in the hopes that term will bring in more visitors.

I have to admit, that term is a pretty good eye catcher, but he has nothing new.

In my opinion, it is article marketing, not this "bum marketing."

It is just like article marketing but more focus on creating long tail keyword phrases article and exploit the top articles directory site with high PR and hoping the articles would rank high on SERPS.

I think the term Bum Marketing is associated with article marketing...but there is a difference.

Most people who do article marketing are promoting their own products or websites.

Bum Marketing requires no products of your own. Also the method teaches re-writing of articles...

That is the bum part. You let other people create and sell products...you re-write articles that are keyword related to products at places like ClickBank or Commission Junction.

If you would like an eBook on the subject...my buddy runs this web site

    http://www.redzubby.com

By signing up you get the bum marketing ebook...in case you want to read more about the method
