Ringtone conversions vary greatly depending on time of the month...

This seems to happen at both Azoogle and another company I use for promoting ringtone offers (PrimaryAds).

Conversions are pretty darn good during the first 15-20 days of the month. At Primary I had a few days of $2+ average per visitor. Then, every month, the conversion ratio drops. Lately I've had difficulty getting $0.50 per visitor. The traffic comes from the same sources during the month, so it's not a question of lower quality traffic...

So - does this happen to anyone else? And does anyone have ideas about potential causes?

I haven't been in ringtones for too long, but I've noticed this also

I'm not sure why it happens, but I have a feeling it's because the ringtone providers themselves have some sort of "cap

I've been promoting ringtones pretty heavily for a few months now and I can vouch for this, especially this month.

Depends how your marketing them... I can agree though even my best campaigns are kind of sliding downhill this past week, that's why I never stick to just one niche...Especially this time of year!

I would - except I'm not using PPC.

But I'm glad to hear it's not just me...

And alas...conversions picked up again yesterday back to normal levels. Here's hoping the next 3 weeks make up for the terrible conversions over the past 10 days.

still bad for me. Frustrating. just started 3 weeks ago, had a good first week. now I'm struggling to break even with half the conversion rate.

That's search statistics, not conversion statistics

The drop at the end of the month has nothing to do with people no longer searching for ringtones. It has everything to do with ringtone providers and/or affiliate networks hitting lead caps...at least, that's my only explanation for it.

Anyone have problems with ringtones not converting in the morning? Traffic sucks at that time or something?

Generally my traffic converts better after 3pm Eastern - that makes sense, because this is when people start getting home from school/work. Early morning traffic is often international traffic (at least for me) so it never converts very well.

My ringtone traffic does best on Fridays-Sundays... and then early mornings (12a-3a) and then also when people start coming home from work/school (after 3p).

I'm not losing money in the mornings/early afternoon, my conversion rate just drops down to about 6-8% and after 3pm, it jumps to 10-12%. If you're losing money in the morning, use scheduling to pause that bad boy in the morning hours.

any chance this might be due to the fact the cell phone bills start rolling in, people pay them, then they go on a ringtone frenzy again?

Or maybe the opposite effect. They see those cell phone bills and realize they got charged for the "Bonus" Ringtones and piss back on the bill.... never to download ringtones again.
