Muslim world again annoyed as the pictures of Holy Prophet(PBUH) again came on Media. This is something to be very bad and should not be encouraged at all.
IMHO I would say Muslims shouldn't get violent over trivial things, these shouldn't be encouraged and should be suppressed. They should concentrate more on the issues facing their religions, how to counteract terrorism, how to prevent their religion from being hijack and so on and so forth
Agreed.. The best way to do that is to reject / denounce Islam. It's a start anyway. Hope this word of wisdom helps.. No pun.
way to something out of context and twist it. i guess im out of my league, your way to interlectual for the likes of me
its easy to say that with a house full of material possessions, for some people faith is the only thing they have.
If you look at the per capita GDP of most OIC countries, it's quite easy to support the theory that Islam causes poverty. Totalitarianism discourages the independent thought which is so necessary for innovation and economic growth.
Just think, if they rejected that religion (which likely caused them to be so destitute) things would change. I think Will kinda summed it up though..
everyone loves, likes and respects his own religion, so wikipedia should respect all religions and avoid posting wrong photos and info about someone!
So everybody should abide by your rules? Is that what you are saying? That non-muslims should abide by islamic rules?
Why? Why should anyone follow the rules of a religion which is not theirs? Suppose I founded a religion that said everyone must wear bright orange jumpsuits. Would you wear a bright orange jumpsuit every day? I bet you wouldn't! And nonetheless you demand that Wikipedia follow the kooky rules of your religion. I'm all for you following the rules of your own religion (as long as no one else is harmed by your actions) -- but don't expect anyone else to!
Wikipedia is not posting anything wrong or right it is just posting data and knowledge. It does not pass judgment on the knowledge, it just provides them to be accessible to all.
If you are visiting Wiki and prefer not to see the images, here's a tutorial on how to block them: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Options_to_not_see_an_image
That's a brilliant way, though another way would be just not visit it. There are millions of sites with objectable content (subjective to each others' opinions) we do not need to visit them at all if we do not want to. Al Qaeda have their own web sites, I never visited any of those.
Thanks I think Wiki values visitors from the Islam religion, it's just that they have to draw the line somewhere. If they cave on this, they may be bombarded with thousands of requests to remove information or images. It is a database that the public adds and deletes from constantly and they just don't have the extensive resources for much censorship. But you can censor Wiki yourself, in link provided above.
I personally respect Islam as a religion, I would feel Wiki provided the information not out of malice but just as an obligation to society being the everyone's encyclopedia and not catered to any particular religion or ethnic groups. Respect as I had emphasized all along need to be mutual, we need to respect others' rights as much as we want ours' to be respected.
