Maybe you mean hosting ? Server is place where your site is uploaded and thanks to it you can share your site with the world.
To be specific, a server is a dedicated computer set up in a datacenter for the sole purpose of hosting web sites, mail daemon, ftp and all the related software to run websites. The server is connected to the internet where you can access the sites. Your website would inevitably be hosted on one such server and if that server is down (ie hangs or crashed), everything hosted on it would not be accessible.
i try to make it simple. hosting=house a place for uploading html,audio,flash,photo etc. simply all your web site will be place here. server=people inside house without server your files can't run or working. inside you server contain certain application to run your web file for instance apache and mysql if server down then you websites cannot be accessed or viewed by visitor
A server is the computer which contains all your web files, your domain goes to this when you type it in, if it worked before and it isn't working now, contact your hosting provider (people you pay to host your website) and ask them why it doesn't work. It could be a simple problem like you have forgotten to pay this months bill.
Lolz i don,t think so ... server is backend containing all of ur web files they are usually located at US or UK
i want to say very easily that is server is a computer, without computer you can't access anything, like that without server you can't access any thing which is internet related
