no, you need to create a page on your site, without ANY blaitant advertising, then go to wiki and click on external links for the relevant word and add it there at the bottom, the URL that is.

Actually I triend adding my blog, but they did not add me. I am thinking of adding individual pages to external link section and for that you need the content to be unique. If its having similar content with others pages in the external section, then I dont think your page will be added. I will post the result after I got a page added to that external link section.

A link with such little content will just be removed.

People who mod wiki annoy me to hell. Whenever I have something to add, they just delete it afterwards, and never think about sourcing yourself.

If you contribute to wikipedia with thoughtful and quality content the mod will never annoy even they're not going to delete your link which has relevant content.

What kind of value do you add to the Wikipedia article?

Why not edit the Wikipedia article (improve it) and then put your website as a "reference"? (that is, if your website is credible enough to be taken as a reference)

I disagree, I get a lot of info before other people in my niche and every time I've updated and sourced a wikipedia page they just delete it. I my niche at least, it is dominated by a few people that just love what THEY write only.

A system based on people just doesn't work, people are in it for themselves.

I think wikipedia puts a nofollow in your link meaning it's kind of worthless if you're looking for a good quality backlink.

But, it may be good for some good genuine traffic if a lot of people click on your link.

    I agree with carlg!

No link juice but good source of targeted traffic.

I've edited Wiki sites and never had a problem getting deleted. What was said here about adding good content will keep your wiki info safe. Make it informative and interesting and the mods will leave it alone.
