Worst webhost [Thrillinghill] down the drain once again...

I have to say, I wish I knew more about hosting owners.
Why? because today I learned a teenager is running the hosting I'm currently with. So why does that make things any worse?

Well for starters, the kid doesn't reply to any support emails, no reply back from their AIM support, heck I've even sent him a PM here on DP and on another forum... STILL no reply. I know he's read the PM's and yet, sadly he hasn't bothered to reply back.

Their server ALWAYS seems to have a major issue every few months. Hard drive crashes every 4-5 months, server is over loaded with too many websites, cpanel seems to show 0 disk space used at all times etc... etc... and it's too bad that this kid running everything doesn't care at all for the Customers.

What scared me more is at how he's making money via other forums. EG. He apparently was trying to scavenge cash by posting on forums for money. So I really don't know how he is able to pay for a server at all.

It's too bad he can't be more professional and actually reply back with WHAT is wrong with the server. I guess he has no idea at all himself and that's a scary thought for any customer.

I doubt he will reply here either, as it seems like he hasn't replied on the other older threads reguarding problems with his server and that's just sad for a business. It's too bad teens have to cheat others to gain a few extra bucks.

I'm not sure if anyone in the states lives near him, because it would be nice to give him a call and see what he says or what his parents say, since he's underage and wouldn't be able to put a server on his name.

    His username here is thrillinghill.

    Phone: 815-954-9091

I would contact server4sale, since they are the main server data center, but I doubt they will do anything. I know I wouldn't use them, since they seem to have hardware fail almost each time!

Thats why it's strongly advised to buy hosting from established companies, you know the ones who have been doing it for 10 years or so already...

Apparently this place had been up for 2-3 years, though I didn't know the person running it was a teen.

Sad, very sad - allthough there are plenty of very reputable yet fairly new companies this kid obviously isnt doing other youngsters who actually want and are able to provide a great service for their customers any favours, he's giving those youngsters who are pretty good hosts a bad name.

I know quite a few young people about that age who are very good at running their hosts and everyone I know speaks very highly of their services. Try not to slump everyone into the same boat, allthough sadly a lot of young hosts don't have a clue what they are doing.

Well I contacted the data centre and they are on it. They have to take the server down and run a check. It's sad that I "the customer" had to let them know. The owner of the hosting/server hasn't and personally probably doesn't care or is to busy with their High School Homework.

Because the cost to get into the hosting business are so small, you do see a lot of teens try their hand at running a web hosting company, unfortunately not all of them are professional.
