I have received a payment from a person. He has paid using his credit card as he has zero balance in his paypal account. I told him to start and close a dispute so that he cannot claim back his money. he has done that also. My doubt is, can he still chargeback the money as he has paid via credit card? Please help me....
Yes, he can still chargeback. If your going to start this kind of thing accepting credit cards, use googlecheckout or moneybookers they will make sure you keep your money
That is conducting bad business by making a customer open and close a dispute, with intent so that they can't perform a real dispute. I'm sure that it is also not allowable by PayPal. But yes, they can still file a dispute with their credit card company.
Put it this way, the majority of the people you deal with on the internet is definitely not out to scam or to cheat you. Only a very very small handful of people do and they create bad news for others. I find that as long as you are fair to your customers and provide them with what they paid for in a timely fashion, they would inevitably no go issue a chargeback on you. A Happy customer would most definitely not issue a chargeback. A Chargeback is always the last option to protect the customer if the vendor did not perform their side of the contract especially on an online transaction where the customer has more to risk since money goes out before the goods are delivered. In business, one must undertake a level of risk or else you probably would not go into business. You may encounter scams along the way and chargebacks from stolen accounts but that should be pretty isolated unless you deal with people who have questionable background.
I told him to open/close a dispute only after sending goods to him. So, with your replies, I guess Im still not sure of having the money with me. Thank you
