Nasty Changes to Google Algorithims?

For the first time in several years, I've seen a good portion of our internal sites drop in rankings and PR. We've gone to great lengths to only get links that look natural and relevant.

Is anyone else experience this problem on a mass scale? Wondering if Google changed something major recently.

My advice, dont buy link that the URL is being marked in Google.
That means Google has marked the domain as bad domain.

It will automatically drop your current PR and some cases make it zero

I could rent links for a competitor for a few months... how will Google know that it isn't him, but me doing the buying. Google and Matt Cutts spread FUD all the time... They are afraid of paid links because paid links are very effective.

Backlinks aren't the only factor in search engine algorithms, they play a major role, but aren't alone. On-page factors are just as important as off-page factors. You need to provide unique quality rich content, this is the best way to build natural relevant backlinks.

Why do you say that? My opinion would be that Google may devalue links from forums (if not already), but I doubt you'd suffer any penalty otherwise.

If there were such a penalty, you could start posting your competition's links and give them the penalty.

I am agreed with usasportstraining that google may devalue but not started yet and secondly i would like to tell seo daddy that putting links in signature does not cause you at all.
