I have one webhosting package which I host multiple different websites on. If I interlink (only one way of course) will it carry the same weight as a site that is hosted on a totally different server? E.g. Site1 has a pr5 I make a new site and host on the same server If I link to the new site from Site1 will it be the same as any other pr5 site linking to a new website?
I recently built a page and linked to it only from my own domains. All of the domains involved are hosted on the same server. The page achieved a PR7.
Thank you Will.Spencer, skaterkee please note that if you are trying to make mirror sites that google does have the technology to catch you.
Apparently, Google does not distinguish between links from sites on the same server / IP address, but Yahoo does or will soon.
I read it here http://www.webpronews.com/topnews/2008/01/16/yahoo-patent-filing-sheds-light-on-pagerank. It’s an article which talks about how Yahoo might improve on the Page rank (Google) formula and in doing so “reveals†some of the current content of the algorithm. I do not know the guy who wrote it or how much he is “in the knowâ€.
I also have this issue where I have multiple sites on the same package. Is this the same as the server, will my IP addresses be similar even if the domains are totally random?
