How many meta tags should I use?

    Isn't the maximum amount of tags allowed 16? If so, is it wise to use 16 different tags, or should I make more general ones and use less?

    Any advice would help.

    I would start out with these, in order of importance...

    Title
    Description tag
    keywords tag
    Alt tag

    Have you checked the w3.org site? When I get stumped with these kind of limits and the dreamweaver docs dont have an answer unfortunately you have to give up and go back to the original draft specs for the info. :)
