I was only making like a cent a day with popups and popunders so I took them off.. Anyone making more with only 200 visitors per day?
surfers hate pop ups better not to put them on the proxified pages another reason: Im not sure if this but i think most of pop up progs pay for hits from different IPs you know a surfer may use your proxy site to surf 10 websites , means 10 pop ups from 1 IP and they pay for 1
JacobNix: I have a dedicated at mojohost.com. After reading everything here about the abuses from China traffic I asked my host to block them. Is the jury still out on whether this is a good idea or not? I've recently acquired 25 proxies and thought it best to tighten things down before I start jacking up traffic
Hi All, I have been using various php scripts for a while now, and I am re-visiting some of my cgi sites. One question...How can I allow blank referrers(as some sites require this to logon) but disable access to this directly: Http://www.proxysite.com/cgi-bin/nph-proxy.pl I obviously dont want people using this link directly, any idea how to redirect a direct request to this back to the homepage and still allow blank referrers?
Add another index.html on your server. put a link to your real index on that page so that people will be directed when click on it. and put some text..maybe TOS and PP on it.
TOS is useful as you wouldnt want people complaint to you that your site has been misuse? do you? So, in TOS, you will clear things out that you will not be held liable for any misconduct or misuse coming from your site. PP is now required by adsense. You can use my TOS if you want but make a change to it a little bit will you? It already has privacy policy in it...right before google even announce it..LOL http://www.proxywhereabouts.com/tos.php
It is a good idea because most of the traffic from china is bots and visitors which can't be monetized. Once a proxy is posted on one of their popular blogs to seems to spike the traffic and cause unwanted memory load.
My four listings went live on proxy.org last night ($20 bold listings). So far each site looks to be around 200 uv's so maybe 3-400 each for the day. I used all different templates and as I suspected would happen, the traffic seems to be all but oblivious to the ads lol! I'm guessing the sites will be picked up by others in the next week or two so that may be where the benefit comes in.
Not unless you want to scare off your visitors. Better have your visitors wanting to come back next day than having them earn you a few cents by popups and never come back.
I don't think this has ever been proven to scare away visitors but if it has please inform me. I think that as webmasters we hate pop ups and what not but were not the ones visiting our proxys clicking on the advertisments in the first place.
