Sometimes I get confused about SEO keywords placing. I have a fitness related site. THis is 1 month old. This was ranking #3 on google for the keyword "angelina jolie fitness". The unusual thing is that my website did not have the phrase "angelina jolie fitness" anywhere on the page. It is fitness, weight loss and diet site so the keyword "fitness" is there on the site and it has some RSS feeds. One of the RSS feeds had something about Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.... So this my site got ranked #3?? There are other sites that info about "angelina jolie fitness" and they were title, description and on the page but these ranked lower than mine! How does this unusual ranking happen??
Something to do with your backlinks and on-page optimization, don't sweat it. If it's bring in organic traffic then whats the problem? It's some what related to your topic, which is fitness.
I'm not worried... Actually, I'd like to repeat this performance for other keywords - that's I want to know how this happened
why should you confused. check the other sites on the listing. can you find "angelina jolie fitness" phrase on those site higher than you? do you think people would use "angelina jolie fitness" in their sentence?
Well they have both "Angelina Jolie" and "fitness" in the title and the text also has these phrases/ words. BTW, this post is now ranked #11 for the keyword - angelina jolie fitness . That's funny...
check your analytics and see which keywords people are searching for. also, check your backlinks and see which anchor text people are using to link to your site. nothing magical about this actually as this is not a very high searched term. one good article and few good sites linking to you can do the job.
