Who is using my BANS stores? I was looking at the sales I had yesterday through 3 different BANS stores and this is what I found: The first store's buyer had a feedback of 5. And this makes sense since I recently had an ACRU sale from this store. So I am guessing that this buyer is that ACRU person and is new to eBay. Traffic comes from search engines only. The second store had a buyer with a feedback of 31. Not new to eBay, but still a novice ebayer, I would think. (No ACRU's have been made from this store.) Traffic comes from search engines only. The third store featured a buyer with a feedback of 351. I would categorize this this person as a longtime user of eBay. Traffic comes from search engines and an advertising campaign. The last two buyers certainly know how to get to eBay, buy they instead came to my stores first and then entered eBay through a store link. My quick analysis of all this is that my buyers come to my stores because of niche/keyword searching. And that being a previous user of eBay does not keep them from using my stores to buy from eBay.
I'm sure they just thought they are being provided helpful information. Or they were just searching around, wasn't thinking about buying anything on ebay, but later decided to once they landed there. Also, you will need to know if the people bought the same exact time/day they landed on your page. they could have just headed to Ebay a few days later seeing how they wanted something. My goal is to find the Ebay people (type of items they buy) who go on shopping spree's.
Those would be great finds! Another thing I may start tracking is the buyer's eBay id, to see if I have repeat customers coming through my stores. By the way, my stores do have content attached to them - articles, etc. which is one way of attracting visitors.
Most visitors to a BANS store may not realize where they are, unless it's clearly stated on the site. Also, keep in mind that most of your visitors will be first time visitors. Once they realize what just happened, there's no need to return. So, unless you're constantly getting new visitors, you sales will drop.
I had one of my friends visit one of my 'Ebay stores' and after 10 minutes of browsing around, they said they couldn't find eBay anywhere, but were impressed with all the new products I was stocking ;-) btw... %95 of traffic is off of SERPs, %5 returning. If you make a nice looking and organized store, you will get people bookmarking it cause it is easier to shop than eBay (nice looking = NOT BANS template)
Yes you are right. Someone finds an ITEM in a keyword search at Google. Comes to your site, then ends up at eBay... They laugh at themselves for not thinking of eBay first and they buy something. This is why adding content, articles and press release marketing with social bookmarking is so important. SERPS If you look at the "long tail keywords" that are in play because of BANS you understand that when someone takes the time to type in 4 or more words in the exact order as the items are listed at your site... they are ready to buy. The BANS structure makes it easy for the SE to index your site and also convert traffic. IMHO Bill
Are you speaking from experience? If so, please provide us with specifics to back up that statement. The reason I ask is that my experience has been to the contrary.
hm, perhaps you want to implement tracking script to track your visitors' activities. I heard crazyeggs does the job.
