Hopefully I can share some info on what works for me. I'm currently averaging $100/day and have never spent a penny on PPC, hosting, or anything else. I see a question asked all the time on the forums. What should I use? Squidoo, Blogger, HubPages? The answer is simple... use them all, sometimes more than 1 of each for each product. Never forget your goal as a marketer. Your goal is to get people to buy a product, and buy it from you. So obviously, you want to present the customer with as many chances as possible to buy that item from you. Many people rank a Squidoo lens #1 or #3 on Google for their terms, and then think "Great, I'm done! I'll watch the money pour in". What about the other 9 results on the first page of results. Go after them too. On several of my products, I have 3 websites (Squidoo, Digg, Blogger, etc) listed on the first page of results. Here's what I do: Pick a product you like and think is marketable. I truly believe ANY product can give you success, but picking a good one, or at leas one you have some knowledge of can help. Find some high traffic keyword results relating to that product / niche. DO NOT WORRY ABOUT COMPETITION. If competition scares you, you are defeated before you start. Competition means only one thing - there is money to be made in the niche. When you find a good keyword (main keyword) make a blogger blog with that in the blog title, and preferably the address as well. Make a post realated to that keyword. Each additional post should be for another keyword. In each additional post, include the keyword in the title, beginning, and end of the post. Remember to social bookmark your blogs. I recommend Digg, as it often turns up results in google and tends to send better quality traffic. Next setup a Squidoo lens for your main keywords. Link the Squidoo lens and Blog together. Monitor which posts get a lot of traffic in your blog. Consider making a unique sepeate Squidoo lens for good performers. Once again, link the new lens and blog, other lenses together. Social bookmark your Squidoo's. Repeat for HubPages and any similar sites you find. Write 2-3 HIGH Quality articles a week. Alternate linkage to Blog, Hubs, Squidoo. See over a period of a few months what works best. Keep repeating and keep your niche empire growing! Jim
Nice tips. I'm pretty much doing about the same that you've mentioned. The thing I have to do now is do multiple sites, etc. I have one blog, plus I write articles (about 2 a week). I don't write articles as fast as other's, because I'm trying to make sure they are super high quality, and make sure my title is near perfect as far as keywords & attention grabbing.
Sounds like you're off to a good start. On the articles, others say quantity, I disagree and say QUALITY. In fact, in my opinion, this whole marketing game is about quality. Make sure you are always providing useful information. My average Hop to Sale ratio is right about 1:10 and I attribute this to preselling the customer with quality info. Other than that, I REALLY recommend multiple sites. My blog makes most of my sales, but somedays, my blog makes 0 and my other sites pick me up and combine for 4 or 5. This is a great way to take out some of the ups and downs of the business. Jim
Those are some priceless tips! I used similar methods and there is a 2 word keyword phrase ( xxxxxxxxxxx review) which get a decent amount of daily searches - I own the first 9 results Hehe!
WOW!! Nice alex! I'll bet a good chunk of your $1300/wk comes from that term! I'll be online and taking a break from "work", so if anyone has any BUM questions, feel free to post. Jim
I recently started to do the same things as you suggest in "make money online" niche. No sales so far, but I can see traffic flowing in.
You'll see results. Keep building traffic, and the results will happen. In my experience, every niche has a drastically different conversion rate. For example, 1:10 may be considered excellent in one, and 1:75 may be considered good in another. "Make Money" will often be more challenging simply because customers are more leary of being "scammed". In addition, some will use their own hoplinks. That said, once you get a system that works down, the commissions are often the highest of any. Jim
Unfortunately not yet It does bring in an extra 200-300$ a month though Now I just have to do the same for keywords that get MORE searches
Hey thanks for the tips. Have you ever used these techniques sending the traffic to a review site that reviews and compares more than one product in the same niche?
taraff1 Yes, that's a tough niche, but it's what I like doing It's really competitive, but I hope there is a space for me as well.
