As I was browsing through Google Analytics today, I decided to play with some of the options I don't use much. I looked at my Map Overlay and was a bit surprised. Over the past month or so, I've gotten visits from 131 different countries. Only about a third of my visits have been from the US - with a good deal of the rest coming from Europe and India. Which leads me to the curious question... from how many countries has your site been visited? - Walkere
Stats for this month : Visits from 102 different Countries. With the top traffic coming from : USA, India, Canada, Romania and UK.
On one site users come from, near 50 countries and on other site users come from, more than 100 countries.
My proxy (and proxies in general) really do bring in a vast range of traffic But most are from Iran, and not nearly as much from China than you would expect.
in more than 2 years I already have visitors from 220 countries? Anyone got more? Is there something like full list of countries GA recognizes?
Not sure how many Analytics recognizes, but it can't be many more than that... By most counts, there are just under 200 actual countries in the world. Wikipedia has a list of 245 countries, which includes quasi-independent provinces (like Puerto Rico). I guess GA counts territories like that as being a separate country, as well. - Walkere
the poll lacks higher numbers - our world is MUCH larger!! my monthly normal average is some 210 countries ( for pages in: de, en, fr, es )

The number of countries however depends on what language you publish and how many different languages and how popular those foreign language pages are the majority of all text content is in de, en - with major sections also in es, fr, it, bg and ru. if you want to have traffic then you need to reach OUT into all world
Why hostgator Sucks! I've hosted with a few other hosts before, and I've compared the prices and hostgator has good pricing and I've never had problems with uptime, but if you are late on payment you basically get screwed if you continue to go through them after being late, just a heads up to anyone considering hostgator. I was late on payment the other day, so they suspended my account. You don't pay for the previous month's hosting with them, you pay in advance. So to use my website this month, I would have to pay them in advance, or they shut it off before it gets into this month's hosting. So I made payment, and a few days go by and my website was still turned off. They made at least $120 from my traffic this past weekend (they put up a parked page when they suspend you until you change your DNS). They told me that to turn it back on, they would charge me a late fee of $10. I asked the guy "why would you charge me $10 when I don't owe you anything, I'm paying for this month's service, I'm paying to have it turned back on, not to settle a debt or anything that I already owe?". He said that as long as I use the same email address, I would have to pay the late fee. So if I leave hostgator, then sign up for hostgator hosting again, with a different email address, I would avoid the "late fee". So basically hostgator already made over $120 off me this past weekend, and now they charged me a late fee for choosing to continue to go through them (I have to get my hosting activated again so I can get to all my files and move them to a new host). So just to let you know, hostgator is garbage. I've been hosting with servers500.com for about a 3 months now with other websites of mine and although they are a reliable more cost effective and you get less unlimited space to host unlimited clients in just 7.99$ per month whereas the hostgator doesn’t allow that and charge high fees for nothing. The best thing if my business grow I can upgrade plan to master, alpha, vps or to a dedicated server without hassle of transfer. They offered me free transfer from hostgator to www.servers500.com so simply I am happy with servers500.com and I do recommend you guys too…….
