When someone is thinking about moving to a country, why would they even think about internet porn filters and how to get past them?
Exactly! I just mentioned that my main online come sorce is adult and the whole discussion turned out in the direction of Australian porn filter. No offense though. Any information regarding webmasters life in Australia is helpful at this point.
I read on another board that you don't have to pay taxes for income made by selling goods outside Australia. So if I promote affiliate progarms and if all the customers are from outside Australia, do I need to pay tax? By the way, many thanks the guys who sent me pm about this thread.
"Right now my present day job(nothing related to computers) pays me around US$3000/month and I am making around US$2000/month from web sites (mainly adult)." What is the main reason to relocate to Australia with income $4k-$5k a month in Thailand ?
SEOLinker, I want to be a full time webmaster. I am not a Thailand citizen. I am from another Asian country and is working in Thailand on work permit. If I quit my present day job I will not have VISA to stay in Thailand. In that I will have to go back to my country where it is not easy for me to run internet business due to many factors. So I should either continue to work in my present job in Thailand and be a part time webmaster. Or take a big risk and move to Australia to become a full time webmaster.
Anymore suggestions? Any of you Aussie guys/gals are living in Thailand? How do you compare the life between the two countries?
Hey, Im an aussie, and I run an australian forum http://www.aussietycoon.om which may help you on your quest.. I have been to Thailand for a holiday, mainly bangkok.. so I can;t say what living there day to day would be, but it really depends on your interests.. Australia has a great laid back lifestyle, clean air, friendly people and lots of opportunity. I did hear somewhere however that Thailand has the largest population of Entrepreneurs compared to anywhere else in the world, which I found astounding.. maybe its because of all the small stalls scattered throughout the streets.
I spent first 16.25 years of my life in Aus, it's not bad, but just keeps getting hotter and hotter every year I don't know much about the GST cause it never mattered to me, but I think you should go for holiday first to see for yourself and judge if you'd like to live there. I'm from Melbourne, Melbourne > Sydney
Thanks mate. There is no clean air in Bangkok. I am sure Australia is better for healthy living. But Thailand got the friendliest people in the world and life is not very busy compared to other Asian countries. I am not sure if this is true. But I heard that an immigrant will be always treated as a second grade citizen local Aussies. Whereas here in Thailand, they give lot of respect to people from other countries. Scotty, Thailand is lot hotter than Australia. I am an Asian, so I am fine with hot weather. I have been to Adelaide for few days (back in 2003). It is a small city compared to Bangkok, but lot cleaner. Some of my friends live in Melbourne. They are doing fine. But they say, the moment you are out of job you are trouble. As long as you have job you have everything. But I am trying to get out of the 8 to 5 Rat Race.
Maybe if you don't speak English well, but the Asian people who attend university with me are treated like everyone else.
That is understandable. Infact I thought the Aussies are friendly in general. But I heard about the decrimination at work place. But I could be wrong.
Well we are technically still in drought, however the tap water is drinkable you don't need to buy bottled. Bottled water doesn't just cost more than milk, it costs more than petrol too If you could make NET $4000k/month you should be able to live comfortably. That will cover rent, entertainment, and all other living expenses.
I have no idea where you get your stats from but the average Aussie income is between AUD$700 to $800 per week.
Hahaha yeah, My bad You could probably get by on $800/week if you restrict your entertainment spending to more affordable activities (none of those $100/head dinners )
