I been trying to figure out the best way to go about doing this. I would like to write an article and submit it to as many places as possible, then write another one and do the same thing and so on.. but there's the duplicate content thing. So what's the best way to do alot of article marketing with different article sites?
The duplicate content penalty is more for content within your own website then it is for content on other sites. I remember reading somewhere that it's entirely a myth. I've used previously published articles with author box links on my website and it didn't affect my rankings.
Duplicate content is definitely a myth. Don't let it bother you. Submit to as many article directories as you can.
Yep. The Google facts themselves say that it means having duplicate content on your website that is forbidden. That means you can't have page lll.com and lll.com/bbb and lll.com/ccc say the same thing. They are vague as to other dupe content...but if you notice many of the authority sites have the same shared content as one another, this is very common with health and parenting websites as I've noticed in my ghostwriting research. Yet, they all share spots at the top of the rankings.
I think that duplicate content just refers to your website. I post my articles to all of the directories that I can possible find, especially the revenue sharing sites.
Article marketing is only one way to get links and I just submit to the top 3 article directories and that usually gets me fairly good results. The ones I use are: ezineArticles.com GoArticles.com ArticleBlast.com Alan
So you guys are saying it's totally fine to submit my same exact article to like...5 article sites? Then keep doing that with every new article I write
I don't think duplicate content is a myth. But you won't get penalized either. If they find a page on your site that has duplicate content, they probably won't index that page. If a big part of your site content is flagged as duplicate (say 50%), then your domain can be in trouble. Easiest solution is to submit the articles to directories like a week after you publish them on your own site. That way your site is the first with that unique content.
I suggest that you submit to Ezine Articles first. Once the search engines have picked it up you can submit to the other directories. Ezine Articles has the highest page rank so it will be ahead of the other directories in the search engines.
Hi, there's no subsitute for original content, but I've had no problems with subbing duplicate content to different article sites, in terms of my link in my Bio being to the same niche site. Yes, as far as I know (from top IMers) duplication is measured in terms of within-site material. icj
I'm a prolific article marketer. That's my #1 way of marketing my business. Do yourself a favor and read my article, "The 10 Best Article Directories." Dale King
@touchasley off topic sorry, your website is REALLY good! i bookmarked it! you make making GTP site soo simple and easy! although i know its not keep up the good work
Simple answer is YES - if you consistently market with articles you will see great results. Don't worry about "duplicate content" as long as you don't reuse the article on your website. Article marketing works plain and simple.
Submit your articles to as many sites as you can,the more you get approved, the more you get syndicated and the more backlinks you get!!
I know this is kinda off what everybody else is talking about. However it should show helpful for the original poster and help you reach your goal. I really never shared this with anybody before. However it is included in a ebook I will be releasing and giving away very soon. It is all about how to promote product for free. So I guess it will not hurt to let you guys know a few days before I finish the book. I found that the easiest way to crank out completely unique articles like an absolute animal, is to use Yahoo Answers or similar services. Keep in mind all questions are sorted into categories and can be searched for as well. So grab a chunk of recent questions and start learning. By doing this you will accomplish a few things. 1 You will find out what people in that niche are looking to learn about. 2 You will get the answers (content) to write an article about it. 3 Your articles will be searched for more and used more by other sites. When looking through your niches category keep in mind what kind of keywords the question askers are using. This is most likely what they would search for as well. Hope you find this helpful. Edit: BTW I am 99% sure that duplicate content is only harmful if you are talking "duplicate sites". Like the cookie cutter plr ones you can buy. You have to keep in mind that they rate this by the source code of your site. So you have to take into consideration that your template, advertisments, links, etc.. are all unique.
I just recently started submitting articles and this thread has been very helpful to me. It is encouraging to here that the duplicate content thing is just for your own site. All the best, Hans
In all actuality, there is no duplicate content PENALTY when it comes to article marketing. The fact is that when a search engine, in particularly Google, finds the same article on more than a few article directories, it simply discounts the backlinks and does not seem to index the content from the directories on the lower level. That is why I always say that mass-submission, although a wonderful idea in theory, is a complete waste of time and money. Now I can't sit here and say that I know what Google is doing. If I did, I'd be ona beach in the Virgin Islands sipping on a frozen Mai-Tai right now. But I do have the good fortune of being able to test thousands of articles every day and see which ones (article directories) are being indexed and by which search engines. I can also tell you that non mass-submitted articles seem to get the better rankings and more traffic. This may be because in general, articles that are mass-submitted are more hastily written and have less research behind them...but who knows. Back on the topic...don't worry about submitting to too many directories as long as it is not hundreds. The search engines will sort that all out for you. Respectfully, Allen Graves
Actually i know that hubpages has the highest page rank:7 and ezine has 6. But i recommend ezine too.
I use Article Marketer to blast my articles to hundreds of article directories at once. All you have to do is submit the article and they do the rest. The only thing is that you can't submit different versions to each directory. There is another cool tool called JetSubmitter that will take one article and spin it into a different version to submit a unique one to each directory. It does take a little setup work to make them unique, but one you set it up you can spin many versions instantly.
