But you can't go over a 500mb bandwidth limiut per day...
    500mb per day is nothing.

hibob, the reason he limit the BW to 500mb is simply because, its free.
if you got more than 500mb /day, then you should be able to earn from it and get yourself a shared host.
I think its a good deal.

500mb/ day is good enough IMO for someone looking for free proxy hosting.

Saw some discussion a couple pages back on listings at proxy.org. I just submitted 4 sites for the $20 bold listing that will go live tonight for a month.

I'll let everyone know how it goes. They're all new with no traffic and aren't being submitted anywhere else so...should be a good test (I hope).

I am also wondering about server load by blocking traffic with an htaccess vs. at the firewall. My guess is that the htaccess level probably uses more resources?

I spoke with my host about blocking traffic from China and they suggested mod_geoip over both the htaccess method and blocking it at the firewall. They pointed out (and I didn't realize) the htaccess for blocking China is around 1500 lines - ouch! That has to be rough on resources if you're getting a fair amount of traffic.

    Thought I'd share that one.

dude i think we have already talked about this
thats because WB ads are almost Flash ones and loading too slow
for this it needs time to load and maybe your surfers leave that page before the ad...

    hey shawn ;)
    whats your host?

and dont you know how to unblock these two countries? (my host blocks them)

If the issue is hotlinking, you can block them at the script level instead of the firewall level, correct? Or can they curb around php's anti-hotlinking methods?

it all depend on how many proxies you have and their traffic/BW consumed.
