    Hey,
It's free for the 1st year! You need a credit card to sign up with though, they do not charge you until after 1 year! So just a few day before that 1 year dead line if you don't want the service just cancel it!

Don't forget, it costs over $30 to renew and transferring to another registrar is a huge hassle. It automatically renews the domain after one year, so buyer beware.

You can also check this out (If you feel skeptical about register.com) for hassle free domains also for hosting , I use them and they are great service! Only thing is you have to browse threw ad's to gain credit to get your domain/hosting I think it was well worth it to me!

we did that once so far since it was on another thread and we got a domain free for 1 yr, they just place a temporary hold with a $1 to valid the card then you have a free domain for 1yr....

check it out...i think we will do it right to get another one....LOL

Yes. Lets say your one year is about to finish, and you want your domain transferred to godaddy.com, you'll have to pay them $30 to transfer your domain!

or let's assume that you have a free domain, and your 1 year is about to finish and now you need to renew the domain, you'll still need to pay them $30 to renew it!

Basically I think, you'll go in loss, if you go for their free domain. You are paying $15 for a year, while you can have your domain name up for 5 years, in the same price, if you register through name.com !
