I'm a little excited by the fact that my recent article yielded two sales in a day, but over the last month I've gotten a total of 888 hops and three sales, including the two from this past Friday. Is it time to ditch this product? Or, could this be something normal?
Are these hops purely from the articles? And did you use a landing page? Sometimes linking directly to the merchant's site doesn't really convert that well. And of course, maybe it's just time to re-assess the merchant....
If it is from an article, no need to ditch it as the advertising is free. Much like exolis said, it really depends on what you are doing with them. A good landing page will convert much better than a direct link. I would be happy to have gotten 888 click through on an article. It means you have potential. Even if you send them to a landing page and have an opt in box. If you got 10% to sign up, you would have 1000 members in a year. you could then target emails to them that are around your niche.
I've been direct linking to the hoplink. I think I'll try directing links to a landing page. I have a blog that is in direct relation to the product I'm promoting, so maybe I can create another page to my blog that is something like a review page and then direct people to the link of that particular page?
I think this is a huge problem for many CB affs - focusing on a certain route for their sales. I think you should pretty pleased for making 3 sales since it's definitely quantity that counts in this game - the more hops the more chance of a conversion.
Get this. I switched to a different product this morning. Then I went out to service a couple of customer's (a different offline business I run), and I get back home, turn on the comp, and see that I have 24 hops and a sale! Guess what product I'm going to stick with?!
Well stick with that new one for now and see how it converts. You never know, the sale could have just been a fluke.
