Being my 1st post, HI everybody and thank you for you're valuable input. I have a client that's needing a website and I have done some basic layouts but with all the content that's going to be on there, a CMS is in order. Site has is going to be about breast cancer, and has to have Members, membership area with ability for paid membership Blogs, the ability to post and maybe have users post their own. rss feeds links to those image galleries, works the same as the blogs do. possible video sharing forums (I like vbulletin style, also looking at phpbb3) future shopping cart (I use a good one that I hope to integrate) I've been browsing the forums and I've narrowed down the 3 CMS software being Dropal, Joomla, and Expression Engine. which one of those do you think will work best? I'm by no means a programmer, very little knowledge of php (although I've got some good books) So help me out here. Thanks Cripp
I used to use PHP Nuke, its kinda dying now, check it out tho, at the time it was amazing. Right now I guess your best bet is Joomla or Mambo. If you want a complete list of cms's and you want to compare them, visit cmsmatrix.org.
well i'm a fan of drupal. so i recommend it i have a site that use something similar to yours and of course drupal powered. http://mediasastra.com
I would highly recommend Drupal for CMS, it's extremely flexible and you can easily customise it the way you want it to be.
I beg to differ. Sometimes Joomla, though fully equipped, can become really complicating in the long run.
I reccomend Joomla. I use it on 2 sites and have found it easy to customize throught the available extensions. Also, there's an incedible number of themes and templates available both free and commercial. Good Luck With It
I appreciate everyone's input. after playing with those, I did go with Joomla. I do like to feel and the ease of installation of modules and components. Now all I have to do is find the template that I would really like to work with. I have found that several template sites but after hours of browsing has still not have found one that I'm comfortable with. But I am close. Thanks everyone another question, should I stay with the 1.0.15 or go ahead and go with the 1.5.1 stable? Cripp
