I've seen a report that NNNNN.com's now have wholesale prices of $30 in China, only weeks after the buyout. But not speaking Chinese, cannot confirm. Anyone here have first-hand knowledge of this and links to the threads in China? Thanks in advance!
Yes, because the short phone number in China is NNNNN, for example 95555 is phone number of a big bank.
Sorry, I didn't understand this comment. When we refer to NNNNN.com we are referring to domains with 5 numbers in them, "N" means "number", so examples of NNNNN.com are 18273.com 17173.com, etc.
Most of chinese people likes 955NN/96NNN numbers as customer service phone. eg. 95555 for China Merchants Bank Customer Service Hotline 95533 for China Construction Bank Customer Service Hotline 95561 for China Industrial Bank Customer Service Hotline 96123 for Hangzhou Travel Customer Service Hotline These numbers are more valuable in China. Any other rememberable numbers are also popular, eg. 17173.com. And I have only one, it's 95572.com
Don't think so...these will grow very very slowly...definitely a minimum of $10 a pop unless it's a premium nnnnn.com
Just checked Alexa and there is now a third NNNNN.com in the top 100 Chinese site rankings (96333.com at #68). This is in addition to 12530.com (#22 in China and #316 globally) and 17173.com (#91). Also, lots of other numerics (NN's, NNN's, and NNNN's) in the list as well. Given that internet penetration in China is only around 16% (and just a year ago was around 10%), this is good news for numerics.
I have a new post up which analyzes the development of 100 random NNNN.com's and compares the level of development with the NNNNN.com's. I also discuss the potential ramifications this has on future prices of NNNNN.com's. Check it out!
