If I were on a crusade to make as many posts per day to tear down the country I resided in and give victories to the enemies she was fighting, I'd probably not want others giving me a hard time about it either.

Thanks though, for reaffirming who and what you support. Clearly it is not the country you currently reside in.

Yes i am aware that your sort, would prefer that, being patriotic & everything with all the whistles & bells, including absolving terrorists of their crimes, whilst at the same time telling other people who support punishment for their troops if found guilty of abuses.

    Fuck America too!

Can i partake in the thread now?

Why can't we all have a rational discussion without all the fighting?

It is not truth, unless the test of truth is the depth of your ignorance.

A typically emotionally immature response. No counterfact, no statement of position, just childish mocking.

This is the sort of defense that would never be allowed in front of a magistrate or judge. "But your honor, other people speed in their cars, AND THEY GO FASTER THAN I WAS"

Here is something to wrap your head around. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. It did not have WMDs. So why were your UK troops and American troops there? What justification is there for the bombings?

Explain the moral justification please. By what right, did your country join a coalition to invade a sovereign nation, kill thousands of their citizens, and destroy their infrastructure, creating millions of refugees?

That is neither here, nor there. These are not the actions of a small group of people, unless you are so badly informed to not know that the US government endorses rendition, and has ordered torture contrary to long established international legal precedent.

This isn't an issue about the troops. In war, you will always have troops who take it too far, or engage in morally reprehensible behavior. It's a natural consequence.

The real criminals are the ones who order the torture.

Isn't there like 32 prison that our soldiers operate in Iraq, if it was ideologically driven wouldn't you seen more Abu Ghraibs in Iraq instead of this one Isolated situation that happened on the night shift.

The majority of Iraqis killed have been killed by other iraqi and terrorist not by the us.

Someone has been watching too many Hollywood movies, part of the reason we have a rendition policy is because we have congress passed through laws that don't allow the CIA to get its hands dirty anymore,

Look at all the hoopla about the waterboarind of Khalid Shaikh mohammad, there is more outrage over the waterboarding of a terrorist with blood on his hand, then the person that blood came from.

What kind of sick society are we becoming where we care more about terorist then the people the terrorist kill.

I have to agree with you, Soniqhost. What I feel is that the higher level personnel at Abu Ghraibs probably knew what was going on at the prison. Beyond that, I'm not so sure. The whole reason this came out into the light is that it was reported to the US Army outside of Abu Ghraibs. They went in immediately to stop the situation and even provided photos and information to the media.

I don't know if the higher ups in Abu Ghraib knew what was going on there, but they should of known. The reason Abu Ghraib incident game out is because they were circulating the pictures and one US solider didn't think it was right and exposed them, at a risk to his own life.

All you can do is deny facts, what do you know about truth?

Ok, I’m am seriously disturbed that 19 fine young Muslims died on 9/11 during the most unfortunate of circumstances, not only that but all these years later I’m still on anti-depressants. Also I’m very sad at the deaths of Al-queda & more importantly it WONT STOP because we refuse to withdraw from Iraq!

Nor would asserting your country is “bad” because a few abuses happened in Iraq.

To stabilise Iraq to make sure it succeeds & that the friendly terrorists currently in Iraq fail, like they are doing due to the surge, much to many people's dismay.

None, not even isolated incidents of abuse that go punished, but I keep telling you this.

Saddam messing weapons inspectors about perhaps? it's not our fault that he was at fault is it?

I am aware that America sucks.

And not the fault of a country nor does this justify terrorist acts.

Do you have proof orders are made?

Iraq did not have suicide bombers before the occupation, even when they were under sanctions. You really should attempt to get some education on the subject matter before trying to match wits.

A few abuses in Iraq, thousands of Iraqi men imprisoned without trial, black sites, torture as policy, guantanamo, people held without basic human rights dating back to the Magna Carta of 1215, which is a foundation stone of western civilization.

Using techniques that were used in the Spanish inquisition, government lying, secret evidence, a surveillance state, graft, corruption etc.

My country is not bad. It is run by bad people.

The majority of the violence in Iraq (if you follow these things) has been genocide between Shia and Sunni. The Shia have negotiated a ceasefire, and the Sunni are being paid not to fight. It has absolutely nothing to do with the surge. You can repeat it as many times as you like, but stop paying the Sunnis and break the ceasefire with the Shia, and even with the surge, the violence will be back to pre-surge levels.

This was never about Al Queda who were not in Iraq to begin with. The Iraq state which did not have a reputation for international terrorism. This has been about sectarian violence. It has been about the power struggle for Iraq by different groups, not building a launching pad against the west.

No, the bombings of civilians in Iraq. If I came to your area, killed your family so I could get the murderer next door, would you be ok with that?

It's so easy to say, "we're going to war, we're gunna get the bad guys", but this isn't on a battlefield, it's urban warfare, we drop bombs that kill innocent people. We take out the power grid, and hospitals go dark.

The only way this strategy works, is genocide for all Iraqis. Because you don't want to leave any of these desperate, lonely and angry people alive to come after you later for the crimes you have committed against them.

The UN never ordered us to attack Iraq. Kofi Annan actually censured the West for taking it upon themselves to enforce UN Resolutions without UN support or authorization.

    Unless you can justify vigilantism.

This is the tactic of small minded posters.

If you don't support the war, you want the troops to fail.

If you don't support the war, you hate America.

If you discriminate between civilians and terrorists, you are giving comfort to the enemy.

If you bring up the law, you are trying to hide behind the Constitution.

First of all, you're a Brit, and the British have no idea what it is to be free. You've lived under Kings and Bankers for hundreds of years. Which makes your chiming in with GTech with such small and weak attacks on my character or opinions far less credible than if you showed any ideological basis for your own beliefs and drive to post.

We threw your imperial, despotic and tyrannical rule out of our country over 200 years ago. As far as I am concerned, we have absolutely no use for the British, certainly their monarchs, definitely their government and absolutely any loyalists to the imperial cause.

It may not justify terrorist acts, but it may provoke them. If I come to Britain and start torturing people, looking for terrorists, I'm probably going to make a lot of enemies. Heaven forbid I kill anyone, their friends and family might hate me forever. Maybe even enough to attack me...

Do you not follow current events?

He doesn't know. He simply makes it up as he goes along, as evidenced by his reply back to you. He has only one purpose. Demoralize the country he is currently living in, at all cost, and attempting to limit or null anything done by terrorists.

    He is upset too ;)

Ah, but he's not interested in the truth. He will introduce new things, with no facts to back them up (despite having been asked numerous times). Facts don't matter to him, only the message of making America look like the evil entity it is.

Yes, but if you ask them, they are just misunderstood. Now if an American soldier looked at an oil painting of Elvis, he would demand a court martial and blame all soldiers for their evil ways of looking at Elvis oil paintings. But when terrorists use women and children that are mentally challenged as suicide bombers, he's sympathetic by offering "well, if people did the evil things Americans do to my family, I'd probably go to extremes too." It's so heart breaking...the sensitivity is a real tear jerker!

He doesn't appear to have a problem with what terrorists do to others. In his mind, they can kill all the Iraqis they want. But if US soldiers try to stop those things...that's what seems to upset him.

America's fault! It's always America's fault. Even if something is, guerilla can quickly make something up with no source to back it up, to make it appear to be America's fault. Terrorists are never at fault. They are just misunderstood. America though, is always at fault!

He is too. I've never seen a positive post about America from him. Positive posts for terrorists? You bet! Positive posts for a country with American blood on it's hands? Without question! Positive posts for a man that called for Jewish genocide? But of course!

Terrorists are never at fault. They can do no wrong. Whatever they do, they have a right to, because "we" are the dirty infidel and "we" deserve it!

No, and as you can see in his response, he went out of his way to prove he doesn't. Facts don't matter. Tearing America down and raising terrorists up is all that seems to matter.

It really is sad that some people spend so much effort and time to tear America down, and then try to convince people when backed into a corner that they don't really hate America. If they were as positive and kind to their country as they were their presidential candidate, no one would think twice about it. Hell, for that matter, if they are so capable of completely overlooking unequivocal proof their candidate wrote racist newsletters and has serious issues with Blacks and Jews, you'd think they might give their own country a pass every now and then. But no....that would be too much to ask ;)

Never a bad word for a terrorist. Never.
