Hi! I have read here re blogging, a good way to get traffic is to use alot of directories. Where do I find them? are these specific to blogging? Thanks, Vikki43
You can find them on http://www.directoryrate.com http://www.directorycritic.com You have blog directories for us bloggers. But you also have directories that are specific to medical or business sites(not blogs) for example.
Do these have to be done manually or can I add a lines to my ping list to add my blog to these directories? Can this be done?
You can find many directories in the Solicitation Forum here at DP. It is also wise to read some of the SEO blogs and such to learn more about directories and building back links. Here is one of my articles about Directories , it may help. Yes directories normally need to be done manually by adding your site and a short description. I included a site on my article to do submissions quicker.
Hi Vikki, I want to introduce you World Links Directory - a full SEO friendly general web directory. There are many kinds of directories: general web directories, niche directories, free directories, paid directories, bid for position directories, etc. Good luck!
Can't get over all the tremendous feedback, excellent go-to's and so much more...will give everything here recommended a try.... where's my alarm clock!! Thanks again..Vikki43
I have been looking at a few directories and have one of those obviously simple questions for everyone but me to ask... when I am asked at the directories, which url do I use? is it the one from my feed when I submitted to the RSS sites or the one that is my blog url? Vikki43
It is the main URL of your blog. The feed is just for people to sign up to get your posts and to use with feed related sites. Just so you know in the future. Use edit on your post here if you are posting another posts riught after you posted one. You can do that up till 8 hours after you post to add stuff. If not, you could end up with an infraction and if you get ten you will be banned.
You mean if I have an additional question to a previous one in the same thread, I should use the 'edit' and just continue writing from the previous post? Hope I asked that right? Thank you for letting me know. Vikki43
Yes, if noone has replied after you and you have something to add, just hit the edit button and add whatever you have to say. This is really impotant in the buy and sell section because you will get introuble for bumping the thread.
