I am a nursing student and I am planning to shift to pharmacy. Should i pursue this decision? Which one is better?
I feel nursing is better than pharmacy since you come in close contact with the patients and doing a noble service to them whereas being a pharmacist, you end up with just dispensing the right drug. That's all. Hope you serve really for the mankind
I think a pharmacist, sorry for being too practical but a pharmacist typically earn much more than a nurse and they do not have shift duties
Yup, pharmacist - more money, less stress, less gross stuff, er, more money, no killer shift work, no heavy lifting, er, more money...
pharmacologist for sure, as already posted, more money and you don't have to be around sick and dying people, (depressing) just think of this. (wiping peoples asses) not a pretty picture.
A pharmacist isn't actually the same as a pharmacologist sawz: they are different academic disciplines. Pharmacologists study the interactions between drugs and living organisms whereas pharmacists are responsible for the safe preparation and dispensing of medications. I'd personally go for pharmacy instead of nursing.
I don't know how you people in United States call it but I'm a "male nurse" (my primary education, I'm studying Informatics) and it's not pretty. Think of it as one of the most dirtiest jobs in the planet. Whatever you see on TV about nurses, it's quite the opposite. You work your ass off seven days a week and not getting any respect from staff. If I only had a month or so to write about my experiences of working as a "nurse" in a hospital I would have filled this thread with a lot of text, a lot of text. If you're aiming on health care please go to the top (dr. med.) or look for other branches where you can be your own boss (pharmacy), never ever be a nurse unless you really want (strongly desire) to help people and clean shit, puke, blood eight hours a day and see really sick people all over the place. It's not like I'm trying to scare you or anything. A thankful face of a sick person is more powerful than billions of dollars but you need to be very stable if you want to work in an environment like that.
Pharmacist Can open you own pharmacy + online pharmacy and medicaments sell allways since people are sick and this will not change
Selling viagra and penis enlargement pills online is not pharmacy, w3bmaster . Besides I could never take advantage of sick people and make money on them and you shouldn't too. Leave their health problems to specialists.
Uh if you study nursing on a higher level than normal (not sure whats it called in USA) you earn more than a pharmacist.. I know I will when I am finished with my study.
I struggled between these two choices while in college as well, I decided I loved kids so much that I became a veterinarian.
I would be a pharmacist. You don't have to deal with people as intimately. No poking people with long needles, no death in front of you and probably better hours.
