Once I was getting my site visitors from auto traffic exchanges, and I got a warning from google adsense to stop doing that. I am not sure if the same thing is true for manual traffic exchange. Can anybody throw some light on this?
It is not link exchange, there are sites which allow visitors to surf other visitors site using automatic and manual traffic exchange, I am talking about these kind of sites. Example are ilovehits.com, ts25.com etc.
Oooh - way to go Jon Olson - nice that you name his site (ILH). The answer is that no, adsense sites are not permitted - even on manual surf sites. But thre are a lot of other income streams that you can generate successfully by using manual traffic exchanges
No it's not. The only traffic you can get to adsense sites is purely organic traffic - that is, traffic from search engines, or natural backlinks. All other traffic is classed as non-organic, and can result in your account being banned. If you want to use traffic exchanges, I am pretty sure that bidvertiser and adbrite allow their ads to be displayed in traffic exchanges Cindy
Ok, thanks for the insight. But I have not got any warning as such from Google adsense so far. In linkreferall forum also, they say that google adsense in supported. Linreferral is a regular stream of visitors for me, so not sure if I should stop pursuing withe them.
Yes I agree frames are not allowed, but there are traffic exchange sites like linkreferral which open sites in a new window. So I wanted to check if I should continue with them or not, so that I comply with adsense rules.
Oh.. no problems! I think it might be worth checking out the Adsense TOS - I think you will find that LinkReferral does break their TOS. I don't think it's a great move to listen to the words from the compatny that benefits from your traffic - look to the source, or listen to the advice of people who have no affiliation with Adsense.
i don't recommend using any traffic exchanges ! try search engine traffic, relevant link exchanges, banner / text link exchanges or paid advertising. thanks.
Your comments do make sense to me. But linkreferral has really help me improve my alexa ranking, within two months my alexa ranking has reached 600k worldwide and in India it is less than 10k. May be I can focus on increasing traffic for the time being, and remove adsense for now. I will keep using other sites like bidvertise and adbrite. Once I reach a decent viewership and alexa ranking, I will switch over to Adsense. What do you say about this strategy?
Blah Blah Blah. Traffic Exchanges are not like they used to be. There are quite a few te's that are now a legitimate business - aimed at getting your site seen, rather than just clocking up hits on the counter. Sure - I am super passionate about staying away from auto-surfs, which are just benefitting the webhosting sercives. But, there are some GREAT te's out there, getting great results. There is a right way to use te's and a wrong way - and sadly, these people who are hoping to get rich quick from putting a few adsense ads on their site are never going to find the right way.
It's hard to say You will need to just track your efforts and see which places deliver results - and not just hits. If you are interested, there is a site called Affiliate Funnel, which ranks all of the best traffic exchanges online. Let me know if you want the link. This is a great resource, because it's ranked by the surfers - so people can see which sites are delivering great results - NOT JUST HITS. If your main aim is to get a high alexa rank, that is easy - but get people to keep coming back, you need to learn how to market your site and make people keep coming back - or, in a traffic exchange, keep putting your site in front pf them - so they can associate your site with a service when they require it at a later date.
Thanks for your insightful comments. The real motive behind my site is to bring about an awareness to as many people as possible. The return ratio has been amazing for my site. Most of the visitors have bookmarked me or subscribed to rss feed of my site, as I try to provide great content on my blog. Its basically about self and personal development. I believe if you have high alexa ranking, the visitors start coming automatically. Also, please provide me the link of Affiliate Funnel. Thanks Sharat
That is great! I am glad that it's going so well As far as you getting more visitors because of a higher alexa rank? I don't know how that would happen - because, as far as I know, the search engines don't take into account a site's alexa rank. I might be wrong, but alexa is too easy to defraud, so not many people take it too seriously.
