Hi, i used to spend hours chatting with people from all around many countries in yahoo chat, everytime i try to look for yahoo chat to use it again i don't find it, then i come back as of now i'm unsuccessful. does that service still exist out there? F.L.
yeah, we(in avatar) met through yahoo chat rooms, and it has been 2 yrs...check once to the 1 that we used to go all the time...but its filled with bots nowadays
Yahoo chat is dead? Well, i admit that the liveliness that Yahoo chatrooms had once is now gone, I'm still usng Yahoo chat to chat with friends one on one.
They closed it down for awhile because of all the bots (to fix it), and I think they permanently removed the ability for users to create their own rooms. Not sure though...they could have added that option back but user created rooms were really the only rooms anyone used. So without them the chat is useless. But no matter what they will always be bot filled which is so annoying most uses won't come back even if they are real.
I thought Yahoo Chat was now a part of Lycos chat?! I used to go on the original Yahoo Chat all the time back in the day. I remember using the Cheeta Chat client and everyone trying to find the "Boot Code" lol Ahhh what I wouldn't give to be 13 again
i don't remember yahoo chat from a long time.i am even finished with yahoo messenger and use MSN now days
Hi guys Yes it still exists ! Full of bots as people have said, also as a previous user has said you cant create your own chat room on there anymore, they also got some stupid captcha verification system, so when ever you move a room you have to put in a code shown on the screen, so it drives u mad after a while, just shows that yahoo dont have a clue how to deal with their bot problem ! Woc
Yahoo chat is still alive but it is barely kicking these days. The bots forcef people away and then Yahoo bought in this CAPTCHA thing which drove more people away as they resented having to type in numbers and letters everytime they wanted to get into chat rooms. I use a program called YahELite to access the chat rooms. http://www.yahelite.org/deep/yahelite/
I thought the cpatcha was effective to control the bots. There are spammers still, bots or otherwise.
I don't mind the CAPTCHA as it only takes about a second to type the info in, not exactly a long time. But I have spoken to a lot of people in the chat rooms who hate having to do it all the time.
It amazes me how many people like to chat through AIM. I'd say 80 % of people I've ran into much prefer that over yahoo or msn.
