I'm looking to get a couple Bearded Dragons (male and female). I have a 55 gallon fish tank that is 4ft x 1ft x 1.5ft big. I will be getting all of the materials tomorrow and once my tank is set up I will be purchasing the Dragons. Anyone got any tips who own these amazing creatures?
I don't have one, my aunt did, fantastic pets but as with all reptiles very difficult to keep alive if you do not know what you are doing. good luck to you, read many books and check on them often for the first couple months. I would love to get a chameleon for myself if i had the time and money, someday. cheers, Z
Cool! Sounds good mate. I don't have one but im hoping to get some red eye tree frogs soon. I love em!
Those creatures have beautiful colors! But I think i'm well prepared to get a beardie. Thing is, my tank is too small for an adult beardie so I will be getting babies and upgrading in the future.
They are pretty cool, pretty boring at times when they aren't active, pretty stressful at times because of how many things can go wrong, but what is new, it is a pet! I actually started a site around all of the things we learned and incorporated a place to get supplies because we found a place that is trustworthy. We got burned so many times with suppliers shipping expired food, even pet stores having expired food or diseased crickets. I have a faq on there that lets you know from time to time what to look for when dealing with issues. One last advice in this thread, find a herp vet. You may not need them now, but when you do, you don't want to be searching from scratch, they aren't exactly around every corner. Anyway, my site is mybeardie.com - we might be launching a forum soon too because we have had so many people starting to ask for advice. take care
