Someone ripped an article from my site, what can I do?

    http://copyspace.com is a good place to check if your articles are stolen.

    You have done the right thing by requesting them to take down the article, I do not know of any other solutions.

    You can contact the hosting provider and tell them about a copyright violation. You can gather the who is information and sue them in a court. You can email them and ask them to remove it in a nice way. 99% of the time unless you have lots of money to sue them. You have close to a zero chance of getting it removed. The internet is structured to allow pirates, and thefts to get away with copyrighted materials.

    Most honest people will remove it if you email them. If not most hosting sites will take it down.

    Yes, that's exactly what this person did. Didn't have to contact a host at all.

    You should have told him to post the first 2 paragraphs with a link to your original post so that you could get some benefit from the link.

    Don't freak out because someone is using your content. Come up with a way to make it work FOR you.
