First of all i want to say thank you to anybody who is taking a few minutes of his time to read this thread . For the past two weeks i have been reading one particular topic on this forum . CB is having a problem with their system .CB sales are dropping off everyday . We all try our best to find a solution for this problem but we just can't come up with one yet and we still can't figure out why CB is having that issue . Some of our mates and friends already left CB to find better affiliate programs out there , some of us are thinking of leaving CB but we don't know where we are going to find something better . From all those threads i have read on this forum i think the best one was the email that one of our mate sent to CB about their problem . Unfortunately the answer that we got from them wasn't that great . Mates and friends this is what i think we should all do . If CB doesn't believe that affiliates and vendors are having trouble with their system for the past few weeks and that our average sales are dropping off . One of us should write a letter explaining to CB that their system is getting down day after day and if they don't try to fix it or do something about it , we <<affiliates and publishers >> will leave them to find a better place to promote or to sell our products . The one thing that will make this letter different from the others that some mates already sent ; is before sending it to CB we should all agree to sign it . I think If we << affiliates and vendors >> sign that letter with our first name and send it to CB they will show us more respect and they will fix that problem that they are having . I don't think after receiving this letter with our signatures on it they would still be stupid enough not to fix the problem . So Guys the question is : Are we going to write this letter ? or Are we just going to seat here and still complaining about CB ? Please tell me how you feel about this option . Some of the threads about CB problem http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=728403 http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=726573 http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=728406 http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=717886 http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=723941 http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=723568 http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=693780 http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=725943 http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=723433
I think that it is a noble Idea - but not a practical one. In this game money speaks louder than words. And at this point clickbank has to be noticing a huge hit in their bottom line. I'm sure they are looking at and trying everything to stop the financial hemorrhaging they are going through. After all if we are losing money - they are too.
I don't think they are trying to fix that financial hermorrhaging problem like you said because If they were why did they sent a letter like this to one of our mate . They didn't tell him they were trying to fix something they just told him they had a brief partial outage of orders for one day and it has been fixed . If they wanted to do something about it they should tell him yes we agree that we have been having some trouble with our system lately and we will do our best to solve it . So my question to you is would you sign that letter ?
I would not sign it - because that would assume that we know that it's a clickbank problem. No one here has actually made a case that it's a clickbank problem. The only way you could prove that it was a clickbank problem, is by selling the same product - but using a different payment processor. And then seeing if your conversions go up. There are a number of other things that it could easily be. 1 - There's a recession - and people are holding tight to their money. 2 - It's the 1st quarter - usually the slowest time of the year for most businesses. 3 - It may be a google thing - they are constantly changing their algos - trying to squeeze money out of advertisers - and are themselves losing a lot of money lately. 4. - People that are losing money in the recession are flocking to the internet to make money - bringing competition to all of us. There are many things that it could be. There are a lot of things lining up right now to bring sales down right now for a lot of us. But if you look around at other forums, you'll notice that there are the same complaints about many other affiliate programs right now - not just ClickBank. Clickbank may be a part of the problem - but I don't think that there is one "big problem" at clickbank that they could just fix with a letter written from us. I mean if it takes a letter from us to point it out, then they have a much bigger problem.
I believe it may be adwords as well. Adwords is probbably giving us junk clicks. I have noticed some wierd things with adwords and its making me wonder...
I get 100% organic traffic and my clickbank sales havent fluctuated at all, i do believe it something to with adwords.
The Google Adword theory may be true, I have 2x more conversions on adwords than I do on clickbank. Get this: I show 2 conversion today, and no sales. I then get 3 sales today with my YSM account. either way im not getting credited with the sale, but the vendor still is. This is the problem if its clickbanks or googles. I dont know how it could be googles, anyone able to explain?
I cleared my cookies, clicked on my own ad, clicked the link on my page, and reached the order page. My affiliate nickname was at the bottom. It doesn't seem like an AdWords problem. nadavs
This doesn't prove that it's not an adwords problem. If adwords provides you with junk traffic (like showing your ads on words you didn't pay for). It doesn't matter if your hoplink works right or not. Because people are not going to buy your item if it's not what they're looking for. Google has been experimenting lately with broadening their already broad keyword matchup. Meaning they'll show your ads on keywords that they think might match up with your ad. I've seen my ad running on searches where not one keyword in the search is in my adwords campaign. How google can get away with this I do not know. But it may explain their recent decline in adwords clients.
It's all been done before, this has been going on for years and no matter what you do it's not going to make a difference. Either live with it or move on. Clickbank had a meeting in London a year or two ago with some of the top clickbank affiliates and they voiced their same concerns back then with discrepancies in sales, it made no difference, clickbank assured them the problem wasn't on their end.
if clickbank doesn't acknowledge the problem doesn't mean there isn't one. it also doesn't mean that they are not fixing it. it's logical for them not to acknowledge anything. but trust me they are much more motivated to fix it than we are. because we can move to other networks, many of us have day jobs too. and I'm sure that they know without any letters that if things carry on like this they'll start loosing affiliates and publishers and will go out of business. Besides, if you look at the following graph which shows sum of all gravity for all products it's hard to tell that there is a problem. On average more affiliates are selling more products.
I'm starting to believe that the problem is called February. AdWords is working fine, and unless Google lies in Analytics and its AdWords reports, they send only traffic I choose. I'll publish a new product soon and see how it works. Since it's on another account than mine, I'll see if I get no-affiliate sales. If I do, I definitely have something to show ClickBank. March will be better. It has to be. nadavs
I get 100% organic traffic and for a while my sales stopped altogether even with sending more of the same traffic.
I would sign. it all boils down to this - whether or not the problem emanates from Clickbank, they have a vested interest in uncovering whatever the Hell the problem is. And there is a problem.
nadavs Even if it's February, sales can't drop from $800/day to ZERO. One guy was writing here about this.
Well Megarudy, You can write that letter, I will sign it, but I doubt it will have any impact but last week was better than average for me with CB so who knows what the h is going with CB... they are an up and down company.. That's why I stress this to all affiliates and vendors... Don't put your eggs all in one CB (cyber bucket) egg basket.. Stan
