Maybe the military base is considered "US soil".

This is a non-issue. The Constitution does say:

But since 1790 this law has been in effect:

The Panama Canal was considered part of the US until it was returned to Panama

The spirit of the constitution is where the person was raised not where they were born.

I am sure mccain has some real dirt to dig up, why waste your time on this. If you don't understand how a military child born outside the country is a citizen, then you are flat out clueless or need to get sober for once.

(This message was meant for other U.S. citizens, I don't expect others to know our system.)

    John McCain and citizenship

Senator John McCain's 2008 Presidential bid raised questions concerning whether he was a "natural born citizen" of the United States entitled to seek the presidency (only "natural born citizens", resident in the United States for fourteen or more years and aged at least 35, may be president, pursuant to Article II of the United States Constitution. Title 8, Section 1403 of the United States Code grants citizenship to those born in the Canal Zone with at least one parent who is a United States citizen. This differs from the provision in the Fourteenth Amendment which grants citizenship to all born in the United States, regardless of parental nationality. McCain was born in the Canal Zone to United States citizen parents.

This issue was throughly researched for his prior runs for President. This is certainly not a new issue. (It may be new to you, but it has be out in the open and discussed for at least 8 years)

He does have a legal team, including Ted Olsen prepared to discuss the issue, but it is really a non-issue. There is no chance he is not qualified to be President.

Now, someone like Arnold Schwarzenegger is another issue - he is not qualified to be president due to his being a naturalized versus natural born citizen.

I was born on an air force base in Japan and I am a US citizen because it was US soil. The same goes for him as well. It doesnt say you have to be born IN the US and besides he has been here for the amount of time needed to become a president.

I think the strict constitutionalists, of which there are quite a few here, would have to agree that he is ineligible to run for the presidency.

Excuse yourself, and pardon me, the thread author wanted an insight which he couldn’t find, and openly seek a discussion about this, the impression that one is drunk because of misunderstanding or wanting to know about something is uncalled for really.

“then you are flat out clueless or need to get sober for once.”

Isn’t it his “clueless-ness” that drove him to make this thread, please understand how you just made yourself look?

“This message was meant for other U.S. citizens”

What message? You haven’t given an insight on the request of the author of this thread (you didn’t answer with logics), all you did was put yourself in a verbal ball of nonsense.

You haven’t given a knowledgeable answer and I’m implying to your remark and uncalled for you’re to him “sober” like of dumbfounded.

Obviously if the man is running for president he is in the clear, so why strain yourself to imply the author of this thread is drunk because of his misunderstanding, or rather stupid, dumb, or an illiterate, are you a supremacist of some kind? Given the impression of suppressing something, which is what I’m talking about, prior to your remark an answer was given, you’re uncalled for claim impression of a drunken man was uncalled for. Excuse yourself next time.

Then the childish quote: “I don’t expect others to know our system”.
I wouldn’t explain how retarded that sounds, you look at it my friend and tell me if it sounds intelligent.

    - Please, Thanks, and for crying out loud!

I dont care if he was a 100 start general. If he is for the war in iraq
then its not a hate america attack. Its about hating a lie of a war. Since when does have a great military career give someone the right to support a bs war? and since when do we have to agree with that? Its because we love america that we dont support that. Its too bad because we had a real candidate in ron paul but the system isnt ready for a fully honest candidate who actually cares for us and isnt in the back pockets of some special interest group, but one day even the elite will be ready for him.

    burp... excuse me.

Now what are you trying to say again?

It is simple as - if you want to dig up dirt on mccain, then dig up something useful. This would have to fit under the stupidest dig on a candidate I have seen this year. I am betting their will be dumber things, but I am sure mccain has some real dirt to dig up. Maybe something like he is a jooooo.... oh, did I scare you?

The OP was hoping he had dirt on a candidate he hates and must not have been thinking to well to think it mattered that he was born in Panama.
