Well the news is a little old, been out for a week now I believe, but I think it's clear that Yahoo's board does not have the best interest of the company at heart. They're more worried about their own jobs and their own paycheck.

I fully agree. They're loosing profitability and cutting jobs, i.e. a company in trouble ... time to sell off some departments or the whole thing ...

Depend on many things. If Microsoft never changed, of course they won't become bigger than Google. Microsoft always made false movements in the internet world.

If Microsoft likes it, Microsoft has it.

It is not that, Microsoft had offered a good price which even Yahoo independent financial advisors agreed. The offer was rejected but I didn't see Yahoo coming out with any better alternatives. I would guess I would be frustrated if I am a shareholder, considering Yahoo share prices before Microsoft announced the takeover.

I think Microsoft can just give $1 billion to a budding startup and they should be able to built something revolutionary. Startups are known to be innovative and may be able to compete with Google.

Google's marketshare is about 60% so even if Microsoft takes over yahoo they wont be ahead of Google.

They won't be ahead, but they won't be so far behind as in the current situation, thats why Microsoft wants Yahoo, to narrow the gap and hopefully be able to catch up with Google.
