are you talking about 1 character .com L.com?
1 char in a domain name is rare and I belive it is in the mid 100K if not more than a million.

unless it is IDN character then it depends.

I had the chance to buy a the domain ds . com for 127.50$ but i blow it. if you look in the keyborad you can see that "d" and "s" are right next to each other. this domain could have been worth xx,xxx to xxx,xxx but i was an idiot. i cant stop thinking about it. drives me maddddddd.

You can check what's for sale over at Pool.com to get an idea.

Btw, are you buying or selling?

You can't buy a 1 character .com. They are all held by the registry. That is outside a very small few such as X.com and Z.com I.net . And those were registered back before the registry put holds on them. If you could buy one and there's been discussion on putting them up for auction they would be in the high tens of millions if not hundreds. The likes of Google > G.com and Yahoo > Y.com would put the prices through the roof.

If you are looking for a "short" domain name you'd be better off looking at some european names like .be. I know there are hundreds of three character .be domains remaining.

An awful lot. Are you looking to buy or sell?

I have a one-character cctld domain (x.xx), had it for about 10 years now. I'd never really thought about selling it but I guess for the right gigantic price I could.

Don't dwell on it, water under the bridge.

A friend of mine had a founding stake in a dot-com that is now one of the world's best-known brands. He figured the company wasn't going anywhere, so he sold his shares back for $20K and used the money to go back to university. Boy was he ever wrong. At their peak the shares would have been worth several hundred million dollars.

It used to really get to him, but finally he shook it off and I must say he's been a lot easier to get along with since then!

Or you could have launched a Web 2.0 startup with one of the easiest to type domains on the planet. Easy to type domain + site that people need/want to visit several times day = potential $$$.

Dude I cant tell you with 100% certainty that you dident have the chance of buying DS .COM for 130$. Not now.. Not at any time... Dont feel bad it was most likely a scam which you find hundreds of on Ebay.. Or the domains was something like

    DS somethingobscure.com

So dont feel bad.. you just dident get scammed...

are you talking about buying the domain as new.
or is this a site that is all ready been around for a long time that gets users this is the only time a domain should be any more then $50.

if you want to buy a new domain it should be now more then about $10 a year with sites like godaddy UKreg.com and the many more out there.

a domain that gets lots of hits is worth what a person will pay for it

hope this helps you out in some way and was what you where asking
