i've been using Vista for 4 months and other than a few minor compatibility issues ive had no problems, it is a little bloated but it runs smoother for me than xp ever did
My beef with Vista is simple. So many things didn't work that used to, and it took a long time to find fixes. It's as if MS didn't test the product before releasing it. At least I had the sense to buy a machine capable of running it! Vista is OK once you've solved all the problems, which (in my case) needed a full format once or twice on each of three computers. My machine will have to have a third format . I'm hoping that SP1 will solve many issues; it did make a big difference with XP.
The main problem with Vista is that there are a lot of programs which still no Vista compatible and this makes Vista slower and sometimes shutdown your computer. But I love Vista because It's new, beautiful, Microsoft and more secure to attacks.
Well, beautiful is nice. But given the choice between a beautiful car that crashes every day and an ordinary-looking one that works, I would choose the latter. I wish MS would spend all their time on making the product work, and only after that making it look pretty. The security doesn't seem all that much better. My daughter's already got a virus despite having Vista and a firewall-anti-virus package.
people say that the SP will make a differance but what i have heard is that almost all of it is already done if your fully up-to-date i guess will shall see!
your negatives isn't enough to hate vista? bill gates says that vista SP1 will corrupt many programs by microsoft and other that progress can tell us how vista is sucks and annoying
i have heard about this, and i can understand how this would annoy some which are using the software, but in a way i think that if you dont have a system which stops you using badly programmed softwares and old softwares then you cant really improve.. Dan
I actually have enjoyed Vista, it the company would work on expanding or correcting some of the flaws, more people will jump on board with it.
1. From Microsoft. Get over it. Rate products on what they are, not who created them. 2. Graphic Heavy, Unnecessary. No, Home Basic is not. 3. Not Compatible With XP Software Not really. The only times that it is quite compatible is when 3rd parties programs have not been designed correctly. There are issues like the fact that "Program Files" dir is locked down, but writing there was warned against by M$ for XP. 4. Ugly Interface My Home Basic looks like Win2k. I think it is quite pretty. 5. Multiple Versions: Basic, Ultimate, ETC. Only one version... Home Basic. Forget the rest.
I agree with alot of what you said thing2b but i strongly disagree with this. Personally i think Ultimate, as obviosuly it has it all. home basic and the rest all have parts missing, and i think its silly they reduced the quality of the product. so most people only see some of what they have actually made because they dont have the biggest version if you know what i mean..
I am using vista ultimate and i love it. we know that has some small incompatibility issues but everything else works great !
I am still using XP not because I hate Vista, it's just I don't have the money yet to upgrade my hardware to 64-bit yet.
