    Hello everyone.
I'm going to create a small store online. I'll sell Christmas ornaments, handmade crafts, antique goods.
My question. Will same store bring any income?
I'm afraid, there're big guys like ebay, amazong which have take all customers around. And no one will buy from a small site store.
Please, I'd like to hear any advice, thoughts from you.
    Thanks.

Why dont you sell on ebay and build up a reputation and then have a store also so you can drive your visitors from ebay?

I've been selling on ebay over 3 years. But I don't want to pay ebay fees more.

If your selling them well on their then put start advertising your site through your adverts on ebay.

Do you have a lot of repeat buyers? Ask them to buy on your new site give them a promo code to get 10% off say you can offer them a discount as your not paying ebays fees and heyre a valued customer. You will probably see your sales go down if you leave ebay entirely but if your making some sales on ebay and some on your site it will atleast reduce your costs a little, then eventually you may be able to move entirely over to your website.

I would run both for a while then drop your ebay store and focus on your own site. Like nick said, advertise on ebay to build up a base. This is actually the route my bother took with his onlie store. Its worked well.

Dude, that is a smart idea, you can buy goods directly from China, that will reduce the cost and makes your store more competitive. So go ahead.

Don't forget that for the fees you pay on eBay also market your site. If you decide to go along the website only route how will you market the site? Adwords? Local Advertising?

These costs will be higher initially as you build up your customer base.

I agree with the previous posters who suggest running your website along with eBay at least in the short term.

Of course you can make money selling products online. i do it at http://www.linuxbazar.com where i sell books, music, movies, software, multi-media, air tickets, web hosting, projector lamps. Amazon sells in large quantities, i sell in small but i do make money. You can also try selling on etsy.com, a great site for products u r targetting. best way to setup ur store if u r non-technical person is to use a readymade hosted online shop from http://easystorehosting.com Good luck. let me know if u have any questions. i like to help persons who r setting up online businesses especially in ecommerce. Just remember, hard work, sincerity and marketing pays. be persistent and consistent. keep adding products to ur site and continue to do publicity and advertising and u will get income. good income.
