$40 Logo Contest - ~72 hours

I'm looking for a logo to go on

Requirements:

• Your own content (nothing stolen).
• Artistic and elegant. I really like this style of font although not necessarily with so much italic:
  
• Logo must have a purple color scheme. Other good complementary colors are rust and sage green, however, please use creative freedom in determining what looks good.
• Logo must look as good in black as it does in color.
• No animation, no flash, etc.
• Logo must be in vector format, CYMK coloring, and be provided to me in Adobe Illustrator (.AI) format. The all black logo must also be provided in .AI format.

Feel free to submit the design in any stage. I will be happy to provide feedback (and award the winner) based upon simple mockups.

Contest Rules:

• No copyrighted images.
• Please post submissions in this thread.
• Do not type the URL or business name in this thread.
• Winner will be paid via Google Checkout or Paypal upon delivery of the two layered Adobe Illustrator (.AI) files via email.
• All rights to design work will be transferred to me upon payment.

Let me know if you have any questions. Contest will last approximately 72 hours. If I find an entry that I really like, I may end the contest early.

I received a few PMs asking me more about the business and more about the logo I want created. The business creates stained glass artwork and also sells supplies so people can create their own stained glass artwork.

I want the logo to show that the business is about stained glass.

matchstick: Your logo could have been for anyone. I also don't like the font as it is hard to read.

Feedback:
-matchstick: I can't tell by looking at this design that it has anything to do with stained glass.

Everyone: The logo needs to be artistic and creative. The designs should be AT LEAST as good as the current logo. See the left and right triangles for the header? I envision something like that with the design. I don't care if the design is more of a "header" than a logo...I just need the design to be in vector format.

why in AI format

 

I want adobe illustrator because that is the usual thing for logos to be designed in. What do you want to provide it in?

 

How about PSD (Photoshop)?

 

PSD works as well as AI, except I tend not to use illustrator as much because I prefer photoshop, but heres my entry.. I really dont think you'll like ur calligraphy text with the logo you want, it just looks out of place, you dont want to make your site look old fashioned especially with the stain glass theme. This logo looks terrific on a dark layout as well if urs is dark.

Hi...sorry about the delay. Here is my feedback:

matchstick: The logo is "ok" but it's not something I'm interested in. I don't quite understand what the design is supposed to be and it's relatively simple.

sk8boarder1414: This is a solid entry. I agree that I don't want the calligraphy font for this logo. Great work!

CnSGD: The logo is OK but it isn't really what I'm looking for. The logo is not very colorful and is quite hard to read.

matchstick: Your #2 logo is interesting but it isn't one of the top entries. I don't really see anything for you to change so I'll let you know if I can think of anything else.

phacker: This is a great submission. I would like for the business name to be equally important rather than having the "glass" larger. I really like how the logo looks in black too. Great job!

Since I've been gone for about a day, I may decide to extend the contest for 1 day. I'm not 100% sure I will yet so stay tuned.

As far as AI to PSD...I've never used a PSD for vector so I'm not really sure how it would work if I wanted to make the logo very large for a sign or such. I've always used AI for online + offline logos. If you submit a PSD design, you'll have to give me a small tutorial on how to increase the size without reducing the quality.

Gorgon: What would your design look like if you used the font I specified above? I am thinking that it might look good if the business name somehow more incorporated with the design. Lastly, the "W" and "G" should be capitalized. Thanks!

I had a design idea if anyone wants to try and make it. I was wondering what it would look like to make a stained glass frame with the business name inside of it. Feel free to look at the picture frames on the website and remember that this is only an idea...I don't have the creative mind that you all do! Cheers

 

could you make a decision soon about the logo isn't it almost 72 hours? Or at least let the closest person continue working with you on the logo.
