Hey, I just looked at my profile and the amount of infractions I have are stupid, I am not a bad person at all I I don't really feel that I should be scared with all that I have. I love hanging out here at DP but when you look at the reasons for my infractions I just feel it is a bit much. Anyone I have traded with has always been happy with the deals and such but with all the infractions I am sure it makes people feel that I am not a trustworthy member of the community and it just makes me feel a little sad really. Will those infractions always be there for me or will they go eventually after some time?
Most infractions expire after a period of time. They will remain on your profile page for ever, but won't be visible to other users who access your profile.
You msut have did somethign wrong. I only have 2 incractions from 2000 posts and I often act like an ass. They do disappear after 1 month, I think. 10 and you're banned.
I think most everyone gets an infraction every now and then. It isnt the end of the world, just try to learn from them. Also, as has already been said, starting a thread complaining about infractions will usually get you another.
Haha. As far as I know I don't have any infractions, I just always act civil and courteous, I'm here for business and little else. edit: whoa hold on, apparently I do have an infraction for "bumping my thread' although the specified post is not even a double post, I simply let everyone interested know that I had sent them a PM! wow is there any way we can contest these things?
Bumping doesn't mean double posting, it means posting something useless like 'PMing you.' to get your thread to the top of the forum results.
The very sad irony of it is that day after day people are cheated and scammed out of money on this forum and the mods seem not to want to get involved. Yet, when someone trying to sell an honest service bumps a thread, they are all over it like the rash.
dont sweat it we all had or still have infraction points. and dont complain or you'll get more if you're referring to -reps, dont bother with them either. There will always be few disagreeing with you (provided you are on right side)
*sigh*, appreciate the fact that digital point is a huge forum and it has to cater to almost one million members; you should be glad you are not banned. Making posts like this would most likely cost you more infractions. Infractions eventually expire but they remain there for the record, it is private and to benefit you, but it doesn’t stay effective for life, so don’t worry. Don’t worry about numbers unless it is money, if you are banned that a sign to go don’t let numbers fool you. If you believe you are doing it right, and then continue to do it, consult a moderator or something and discuss with them if it really is so serious worth a whole thread.
Don't worry about them and don't worry about people not trusting you anymore - ONLY YOU CAN SEE IT, OTHER PEOPLE CANNOT. They have an expiry date as you can see. I have 6 infraction points, 4 more and I will be banned and the nearest expiration is April 21, lol. O god, 2 months. Now, because of this post you just let us know that you have infractions and you're not a trustworthy member. Just kidding
You have to first get an infraction. To see what its like, just bump your own thread that you make You can also view them by visiting your profile once you have one
By default, it should send a message in your e-mail saying "You got an infraction at Digital Point Forums" or whatever correct grammar. Lol.
Here is the link to view infractions, it is below subscribed posts... http://forums.digitalpoint.com/usercp.php
Oh don't worry, almost every regular member here at DP has recieved at least one infraction. I think i've had 6 in my time here. The only thing that bothers me (or did bother me) was that I recieved like 3 from one thread for the same reason. I think only have 1 active one now.
