Any idea when are we going to see some "final & official" results from the PR lottery?

Results vary from from 0 to 49 right now.

Nothing ever seems to be 'final' with PR updates. And they never make anything 'official' either. Anyone tried hitting up Matt Cutts to see if there has been an update? lol.

hmm my friend's site just increased from PR4 to PR5 a while ago. Verified from google toolbar + iwebtool + seopen.com + seomoz

can it be trusted or is it for temporary?

I assume you are referring to your photo blog? I'm still getting a PR2 for it here on the Google Toolbar.

I knew an update was coming when I spotted a gradual increase in my organic traffic from Google from the past 3-4 weeks.

I ran a check yesterday and I'm edging towards PageRank 5.

Also, I checked with Google Webmaster Tools and I've gone from 9,315 back-links to 13,967...

Traffic increase has nothing to do with the toolbar export :)

First time I am happy that one of sites PR went down... I was not sure if the previous PR was true or not coz, there were back links, but info: showed another site.. and I just couldn't get it away for two updates.. Now it is back to its own and a teeny PR 3

Ommmmm, Maybe. Not every site is 100% accurate. And all webmasters need to remember that, regardless how conected we appear/or feel we are. Or how many of us are trying to alleviate ourselfs to Google Pagerank Update gurus. Unless we are the originators of the PR and Google engineers that are close proximatety to knowing the Google algo, be careful who portray themselves as the ultimate gurus or know all. No matter how many posts or articles they have written on the Google Algo and theory.

Just do your thing. Focus on building on traffic. PR is nice, because it tells you how much you are doing is right. In due time due to your notarity/fame and whatever the Google determines. I think the minimal that most sites can get is at least is a 3. From there One would have to focus more than on traffic, submitting links and Search Engine Submissions et cetera. The rest is up to the Webmaster. Do research. Lots of it. Not every tip and trick will work for everyone after PR3.

That IP i listed has been the very first to get the new data push last 2 updates, now this one.. That's how come i was about the first to pick up on the update. Also the values pushed to it previously have been the final values despite any flux going on with other DC's or checking tools.

You can just delete that line from the HOSTS file after the dust settles and all DC's have received the export.

I think your confused, the Google Toolbar isn't a "bulk" checking tool. It normally pulls the PR value from the closest DC that's switched on and doesn't have a high server load.

The trouble with this is during a PR export, datacenters go ON/OFF a fair bit and not all of them get updated at once. So each pageload you can be fetching the PR value from different servers, and you don't know what one or even if it has the new or old PR value.

Fixing the toolbarqueries to one specific IP that is confirmed to be updated and switched ON means you can browse showing the new Pagerank every pageload.

    Make sense?
