Setting Up my own Computer - problem

    Hey,
I just got all parts of my new computer, and put it together,

However, now that I'm done, when I turn the computer, it makes a 3 second beep sound and then turns off on its own after 10 more seconds.

Anyone knows what the problem could be? Where did I screw up?

    Thanks

Does anything show up on the screen? Are you using integrated video or do you have a video card for it?

Ok, I got the turning off problem fixed.

But now I have another problem. Nothing will show on the monitor ....

and the Graphic card is installed properly and it doesn't have an extra power connection.

    Any help is appreciated

Check to make sure the RAM is completely pushed into the slots

take your ram out nd then run your computer
if it gives a long beep it means u r motherboard is fine nd working
then clean edges of ram nd fix it again in slots , then reboot it nd see

Compatibility issues as I see it. Maybe you plugged the VGA cable on the onboard video slot, not the add-on one? :D

    yes compatibility issue.
It can be with any hardwware especially RAM that your MB does not support.
Check the MB manual for which RAMs types are supported.

Well there is no compatibility issue. the motherboard has cabinet shot. You'll have to see if the motherboard is touching the cabinet. If yes either place an insulator or rubber inbetween.

All motherboards come with electric surge protection and wont allow damageable current to pass through them.

    ;)

Its 6:45 AM here... I am going to sleep now ... I would have loved to help out. Its basically a shot problem...

    If nothing works:

    1. Take out your motherboard and place it on a insulator like a book or Wooden Box and then check for monitor display. If it works outside the cabinet then if you surely work inside too if its not shot with cabinet.

Gotta go .. Good night :D

To take out the motherboard, no i didn't .

That seems too much work as I already put wire wraps around the all the wires inside the cabinet.

But everything in the case seems to be working, even the hard drive is making sounds, the lights on the Motherboard are on too..
