I got my first lead through Adwords, after I just started 3 days ago, but the lead was generated through content network and the content network was set to auto. The click cost .20 not bad I earned $1.80 :)

    Well done arthro! :)

Out of curiosity. Did you first send the google adwords visitor to your own website (landingpage) or did you use directly the affiliate link?

Thanks for sharing, and good luck to you!

    Awsome, thanks! :)

Would you mind telling the process of picking this particular affiliate to use with google adwords? Of course I understand you are not going to tell us the affiliate you are using, but I would like to know what kind of research you do and what kind of tools you use for this?

I recently signed up for cj.com, there are thousends of affiliate programs to chose from. I find it quite risky to try them one by one with adwords. It's a lot of work and probably lot's of wasted money. Maybe someone could share the tactics how to filter the campaigns that are worthwile to advertise with google adwords. To which info are you guys looking?

Arthro, was your display link different than your destination link? I'd like to start using CJ affiliate links in my AdWords to send directly to merchant however I'm not sure how to avoid getting the ad disapproved due to the display URL being different than the destination URL (which for CJ would be one of those garbage www.krqjsdf.com/asp?sflkjdfsd thingies).

Congrats man! Making that first chunk of change is enough to get you seriously addicted. Happened to me 4 years ago and I've been going strong ever since. Just keep reading and learning and trying new things and you'll hit the jackpot one day.

Yes HaltingPoint, the destination link is the affiliate link and the display link I use is a social bookmarking link (redirect)

    Thanks JoeStec for your encouragement.:)

By the way I got 2 more leads just now using Adwords (Total of $3.6), same campaign... but it was again through content network... So this puzzles me if I am really on the right track...

Social bookmarking link? Do you mind sharing an example of what that might look like?
