Any luck with Bum Marketing or Niche Marketing on Crack?

    Hey everybody,

I've been reading these forums for a while now and thought I'd ask you all a question.

I'm getting into the clickbank affiliate stuff and don't really want the time or upkeep of doing a PPC campaign (although that's what most people seem to be doing.)

I would like to just write articles, like 5 a day, and submit them to ezinearticles and let the articles build up and have them come to my blog on then be linked over to an affiliate from there.

The Niche Marketing on Crack guy is pretty much the same thing as bum marketing, but he has you build a wordpress blog and let the ezinearticle backlinks boost your Blog's PR until it outweighs the articles as the articles slowly leave google's front page.

My question is: Has anyone tried this and do you have any suggestions/warnings? Do you think this will work? Are there better ways to attack this?

And, has anyone used or heard of Articlemarketing.com's service where they submit your articles to hundreds of outlets?

It's sort of expensive, but if it works it'd be worth it, right?

    Thanks,
    Brad

I heard that Bum marketing has been a success. It will get started with others things anong the lines what your looking for. Usually you can $200-$300 consistantly if you follow the program correctly.

I have found success with Bum Marketing personally. Many of my articles rank for my keyword in a few days at the most, so this brings in traffic.

    Suggestions/Warnings:

Ezinearticles.com can be VERY defensive about affiliate links, so you can't use them unless they forward from a top level domain. They also like to call anything that's not from a top level domain an affiliate link. So you can set up a site around the link, a blog, or a Squidoo lens.

Also keyword selection is the key point. Sometimes you will choose good keywords, and sometimes your article won't rank. Nothing to do but keep trying.

Yeah that method works. As ez-online-money sais you should first create a blog devoted to the niche that you promote, and use the articles to promote that site.

You can also set more blogs (in free providers like blogger) and post there occasionally to promote your blog.

I joined his forum. Does work just like bum marketing but many members found it not as effective in sales as they were going for the same products, writing similar articles etc.

Best to use it on less competitive areas.

Bum Marketing has done wonders for me.
I had never made a sale before I used bum marketing and now I am just getting used to those notifications of "you have just made a sale".

These sales notifications are so addictive so that I keep trying to get more and more of them.

    bye,

    Bum marketing rocks!

In stead of putting aff link in your resource box (which ezinearticles.com frown upon), link it go your squeeze page instead.

    Bum and NMOC work.

My suggestion for bum marketing: if you choose this route, DO NOT link to the merchant page... Link directly to your blog instead.

NMOC work, here is an example, since I am in the Learn French niche, I was searching for my competition sites, and I found a site at the first spot of Google for a clickbank product: "Rocket French Review".

This is a pure example of NMOC wordpress blog, and I guess he made some nice affiliate commission with this blog.

It's not a REAL business model, but it's good to make some cash.

NMOC works better in my opinion compared to BUM marketing. I have tried both and have seen better results with NMOC. It's mainly becuase BUM marketing is selling to a more general audience so you need to get a lot more traffic to convert sales. NMOC sites can be run with small traffic and still profit.

I agree it's not a business model, but it's a great way to research profitable niches and then build VRE sites on them with multiple income streams and then go on to make your own product where the real money is.

    Hey!
I have been kind of successful with bum marketing.
I have started 4 months ago and am making a pretty good $ now, considering there is no adspend.

Anyways, I wanted to warn you about Wordpress... unless you are going to host the blog yourself you are running a great risk of getting you blog terminated as Wordpress does not accept affiliate links... In the fast few weeks I have heard of 100's of people who's Wordpress account was terminated because of this.

Squidoo will be sorting through lenses sometime soon as well, and they will be deleting most lenses that mostly concentrate on selling products as affiliates...

At this moment Blogger would be the best way to go, but your own website is the best option since you could SEO optimize it and you control your content at all times.

    I hope this reply helped

I actually have NMOC and its a pretty good guide. I haven't really put it into use because I wasn't really sure about what kind of posts to put on the blog but you say that it works pretty well so I will try it out.

Just remember to write good article, not crap one. Build a site so you can SEO both of your site and your article. Choose good product in clickbank, it really helps!

Yeah, write a good article - people say bum marketing is all about quantity - but it truly is about quality.

If you put tons of quality articles out there that actually add value to the person's visit - you're going to naturally increase clickthrough ratings.

And when that person visits your website - they'll automatically stick around longer.

But here's a little twist - why submit the articles to directories and build up their website?

Why not put the articles on your website, and rewrite them for article directories?

    YA DIG!? :D

I actually started doing what you just stated... It's much harder to get your site to the first page of Google though...

I think adding articles to your own site is great on the long run - but it will take a while to see the results.

However, if YOUR websites gets listed on Google's first page - it will stay there MUCH longer than an article from Ezine ;)

If you add articles to your own website first, then rewrite them for the article websites - you'll see results just as fast as bum marketing.

You'll also be building and owning your own website - it'll be like a "public portfolio" of your bum marketing campaigns.

You're just recycling your articles - kinda.

If they're extremely high quality articles - people won't mind the recycling; in fact - it'll just emphasize the importance of what you're trying to say.

    Great post ExpertForumGuy,

I think that's the next step to Bum Marketing.

To outdo the directories we have been religiously
submitting to. If only Ezine Articles share their Adsense
earnings just like DP. It'll be the next best thing.

    hey thanks for the feedback!

That would be awesome, I would be making SOOO much money right now; lol.I could only imagine how much money ezinearticles.com is making - something insanely ridiculous.

But yeah, bum marketing is great - and you can even earn a living if you do it religiously. If you want to build your own business - start producing articles for yourself and have article directories compliment your business

Use article directories to boost your Search engine rankings and to increase targeted traffic to your content website.

    It's all about "targeted traffic"

    Once you have the traffic coming into your website - you can monetize it anyway you want;
    - affiliate programs
    - adsense
    - your own products
    - mailing list
    - self-created membership site
    - ecommerce store.
    - etc.

    JUST! GET! TRAFFIC!

    Three birds, One stone :]

I was wondering if anybody here has had good results lately using the Niche Marketing on Crack techniques? If you've been thinking about trying Andrew Hansen's report I think you might like it.

I have a bunch of NMOC sites and they bring in nice money each month. I don't always set up WordPress sites for them like he recommends - sometimes I do them as regular html sites and set up a feed for each site so I can ping and bookmark it like you do with a WordPress blog. Both setups work well for me.

I was doing some sites in the beauty and skincare area and those have done very nicely. A lot of people are going after really expensive brands in those areas and they just want to buy that brand. So think of any print ads you might see in the back of expensive magazines that target higher end buyers - those are really good targets for NMOC sites.

I don't get much traffic to my NMOC sites because I tend to neglect them - I'm not so good at building tons of backlinks and so forth, I'm too busy with other stuff! But they do perform nicely anyway. I see about $2500 per month right now from my NMOC sites and that's nice because I don't do much to maintain them after I set them up and get them going. I really should bring out more of these sites when I get time!

Bum marketing never worked all that well for me by itself - I think the addition of having my own sites and doing the microtargeting of going after buyers instead of freebie seekers as outlined in NMOC really helps my sites work. I hate writing a thousand articles and never seeing much for my efforts, which happened when I tried bum marketing.

It's reassuring to hear that people have had success with bum marketing. I'm just starting off with writing ads for USFreeads and I have about 10 articles stored up so far for article submission.

Questions that I have are, is it worth it to have articles on Goarticles.com or should I just focus on ezinearticles.com? Also, can I mask my link to the product's main sales page in order to have a link from ezinearticles.com? Thanks in advance.
