I think it should be the same. If you're using someone else account, you might get into trouble.

I think that you can apply bank account but the last name should be same. I've not tried with bank account but I've got cheque from paypal using my mom's name. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Short answer no. You can't transfer funds if your paypal & bank account name don't match.

The name on your bank account doesn't have to match your paypal acct name. My paypal is in my name but the bank account it is attached to is in my husbands name only. I've transferred funds into that account with no problem, just takes a few days for the transaction. I think you can just transfer from your paypal to whatever bank account it is attached to. If your parents have a paypal you can put the money in their paypal and they can transfer it to their bank account.

No. You can't transfer funds from your paypal account to your parents bank account. If you don't have bank account then you have to open bank account with exact name as paypal account.

    DON.

Simple. The thing is that when paypal sends the money transfer request to the bank, it all depends on whether the bank's in questions do the extra level of checks to determine if it goes to the right account or not.

Some banks simply just match bank account numbers and the account holder with that bank account number gets the money while other banks have better checks and balances which not only check if the account numbers are valid, they check if the person's name matches to prevent the likelihood of the money falling into the wrong hands.

Thus you get contrasting information here because you get members who are from different countries and using different banks.

If you want to be sure, call your bank up and ask them if the name on the transfer needs to match the account holder's name or not.

Here in Singapore, if the name do not match, the money get refunded.
