    Hi,
Some jerk decided to copy my entire website, page for page. My website is www.getpokercodes.com and the other website that stole my content is trippokerbonus.com.

    What can I really do?

I contacted their host and they have done nothing. I have reported them to google but i want this jerk shutdown, can this be done?

Can you prove that you have copyrighted your material???

If you did not copyright your content, you are screwed.

Forget about it is my advice.

You obviously have a good site/content so look at it as a compliment.

You can try telling him you will pursue legal action but it prob wont work.

I found that the whole reason that this guy copied my website is because he is trying to hurt my search engine ranking, there is no other point. Because if you look at the guys website there is no affiliate links to the poker sites, it is just direct links. So this guy benefits zero because he will not get paid from the poker rooms. The only thing I can think that he benefits is if my search engine keywords are lowered.

This only makes me want to work harder at getting my search engine rankings up further.

    1. go to whois and type in their url
    2. contact their host and inform them that they have violated the terms of their service via copyright infringment

It is likely that they will lose their account for illegal activity

Also, you could put up a blog under the domain name of contentthievesexposed.com

Post their url in the blog along with a description of what they have done so that everyone can see how rotten and corrupt they are.

Make sure you set it up as a no follow link;)

I suspect a blog like this would become quite popular, as there is a lot of this kind of thing going on. You can give people the opportunity to expose copyright thieves...

Incidentally, on this website you can promote all kinds of products that are designed to fight this kind of thing. So you can make money off it too;)

if you informed the host and then nothing happened, i think you should forget it. Just be more careful next time. try to make your website with php so it's more dificult to do right click and view source code. (yes i knew they are many other ways to copy but at least it's a bit harder.)

yeah your best bet is use whois contact their host, and also at the same time contact them notifing them to remove the copy written content(specify) or you will pusure legal action.. that usually will scare them off.

If your site has been indexed by Google already then only he/she will get penalised due to not having unique content right?

But I would do as others are saying and contact the host and try to get his account suspended.

I would say that you should forget about it. Unless he is taking your competition, but atleast let him know that you are aware!

All works are automatically copyrighted by the author. There is no need to register with the government (however, you can optionally register works with the copyright office). If the person copied your web page, then send them a "cease and desist" email. The threat of a legal battle is usually enough since violations of copyrights are criminal offenses (remember the FBI warning before every movie).

What are you talking about? The moment content it written, it is automatically copyrighted (in Canada/the States, at any rate. Not sure about other countries).
