Wanting to fully automate my site

My site has been up since late december. It seems to have pretty good interest and response. Creeping up on 600 uniques for the second month.

For this to go where I invision, it needs to be fully automated, where users input their own data and it posts where needed. I've asked around with other designers and getting told 7-9K. I can't see putting that into it until it's bringing in enough to cover. The big circle.

I've seen on in the forums where techies want to partner up, I don't know...open to ideas and suggestions.

I don't know that this is the correct forum for this, but, have you considered using a CMS to run your site? That's what it sounds like you are after. I have tried quite a few, but I have found Drupal to be the simplest to use and theme.

was looking at drupal...along the lines of what I'm looking for. Basically, I would for a user to be able to sign up, add their info, and automatically be posted in the bullets for others to vote. It would be great for an anonymous users to be able to suggest an artist to be vote for as well. The voting to post it's own results as well with the capabilty to post the artists links such as it it currently. Artist would also need to be able to post their schedules of events.

Clubs would be able to do the same as far as posting their own info, links, and descriptions and categorized geographically.

Winners of the voting polls would have a separate page, also based on geographics, where their info would remain for say a month, and the page would change monthly.

The forum would stay as is. I'm sure there is more, but this is where most of my time is spent currently.

It sounds like what you need can be accomplished using wordpress, some plugins, and some creative design. Wordpress allows comments on posts and you could have a script addon made to be able to vote on the comments, unless their is a plugin to do this already.

Wordpress or another CMS is my suggestion.....

I would learn another CMS other than wordpress. Maybe I'm just not very advanced with it, but I feel it's somewhat limited. I'd say wordpress is good for mainly blogging.

If you believe in your business/ idea it isnt throwing it away it is investing it. Look at the cost of setting up a traditional enterprise and under $9k is tiny money.

Of cause if it is just a bit of a whim or something you are thinking of just taking a punt on then yes it may be too much money to gamble on it
