Who is the best Web host in your opinion, keeping in mind Joomla compatability, and the ability to host and manage multiple sites at a good price..

It is hard to say who is the best because everybody has different needs. I like my host and have had no problems at all but all I do is host blogs right now. The prices are cheap and they have great support. They transferred one of my blogs from a bad host in less than three hours from contacting them. My host is A1 Web Hosting Solutions. They have my vote! :)

I personally use HostGator and haven't had any issues. They're prompt on support tickets and my sites are fast.

It's a tough call and I voted for HG. Definitely not dreamhost though IMO.

after researching a ton over the WWW, i found host gator to be the most recommended, the only thing is i plan on having a couple sites where i want my visitors to be able to upload and download files and videos and it seems i would need to get the "Swamp" plan (http://www.hostgator.com/shared.shtml) which allows "Anonymous FTP" and the other two don't

i plan on using the Joomla CMS system, is there a way around this or would i need to get the "Swamp" plan and should i dedicate 3 years, cause they do have a 20% coupon, and with that i'll save $90+, not to mention the additional $2 i would save from not having to go monthly

so yea, should i dedicate for three years and go for the "Swamp" plan? (it would come up to $10.36 for the Swamp plan)

LunarPages is good if you want reliability and speed but don't need a lot of control like SSH. Dreamhost is good if you want a lot of control like SSH access but you don't care about your site experiencing problems from time to time.

I use to like hostgator untill they suspend my account, and put their own parking page and make revenue out of my visitor.
The worst thing about hostgator is you never know they are bad untill your account get suspended, because they have only 1 abuse administrator and almost 100 pending jobs, so if you ever get into trouble you have to keep waiting for number of hours like 12 or more and afterward you will get 1 line of response i.e move your site xyz.com to another host or upgrade to our dedicated server blah blah....

currently I am with downtownhost and it's great:)

What resources do you use? could you please PM some links where I can find useful information? Thanks :) I'm looking to buy VPS, or dedicated, but don't know much about managing those.

My site got tons of visitors, and the CPU usage limit was exceeded.

(So, remember if your site is running fine it's fine but if you get tons of visitor you might eat resources and get suspended)
