Anyone feel it at about 12.55 am? Scared the crap out of me, my whole house was shaking! A few others have reported it too. Still waiting on a news report.
Yes! in sheffield! Our house was shaking like mad. I thought it was someone jumping upstairs, but my room is on the top floor. It lasted about 15 seconds. About 5 seconds in i sat back and enjoyed it.
Felt it in Norwich, this was absolutely crazy. Never experienced anything like this before. My friend felt it in London, and another friend felt it in Leeds.
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&h...3.351371,-0.314484&spn=0.362319,0.933838&z=10 This is where it happened, 4.7 on richter scale. Only about 15 miles from my hometown.
its crazy i got a call from my neighbor asking if our house was ok because his plumbing broke, but i didnt even fell anything!
It's a baby compared to world earthquakes, but stuff like this doesn't usually happen in the UK. My mate just said "I hope that was the UK moving a couple of inches away from france" hahaha
This is awesome...mostly because I obviously didn't notice a thing. The beeb did, though. Oh, I suppose I best hope that the Auld Enemy is all okay
Wow, hope you all are okay. I don't really get much earthquakes where I live. Once in my whole life but I was asleep through it.
Here is a great place to check out real time earthquake maps and info: http://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/recenteqsww/ Looks like it was a 4.7, EastSEast of Leeds If anyone ever catches any earthquake footage or other disaster footage I would love it if you could upload it all to my site, http://www.GaiaGoneWild.com There is also a place to discuss earthquakes
BBC News have a large article on this on their website. I am from England and I felt the shake. Was an experience to remember
Although I am not from UK, I got it through BBC. Once in a while, mother Earth shows her anger through this kind of natural calamities. We from the rest of the world, share the shock with the fellow Britons.
